*L* I dont know if 4 years ago people came to chat just to chat.  Since i've been online people have used this medium enjoying the anonymity of it for sexual reasons.  Or just having fun..

whoops i didnt see the school thing.. i think that is very different for sure.  kids being able to be disrespectful and the teachers getting used to it.  Thats a big deal and says a lot about the changes.

The women not being able to show their ankles.. well in some way lots of women would argue being free to control their own sexuality is a good thing.  since society was dictating to them they couldnt show more or they were slutty.  so that might be one of the more positive advances.  though nudity everywhere and sexual content everywhere is overdoing it

I've noticed the same, sad thing. I personally never use any swear words. It's much more fun to use "substitutes" - words that in books, TV shows, etc. are profanities. (D'arvit, blood and bloody ashes, son of a Namek (guess where I got that one...[])

It's not just words. It's the overall feelings behind them. No one seems to care about anyone else anymore. Well, I guess they do, but a lot less than before. No one cares about strangers. It's gone from "oh hello there good sir" to "I'm never gonna see you again so I can treat you like trash."

I'm hoping that when I "grow up" (physically, I've been told I'm already quite developed mentally[]) I'll help to change that.

Well, moderate swearing is acceptable to me, i don't mind.
I was playing counter strike earlier over the net and these people would actually speak through their mics cussing people all the time, like, i got in someone's way and he me to f*ck off, so i just stood right in his way to annoy him even more []

Yes, advertising etc is annoying, but since so many people have internet access, it's the easiest way to advertise, and often free to do so.  and yes, it is really annoying, pop-up's are the worst!

I like women showing themselves off, but, i am also an old fashioned guy (and i'm only 21) and i HATE seeing them spit, and especially being bitchy to other people.

so, that's my view.. over all, you are right, this world is going down hill, but, the few people left in it can make their difference, like you and i and most the others in this forum []

I feel that such abilites as being able to identify other creatures' expressions comes from modeling them from ourselves. In as much as we identify with others, bloodlust and illicit behaviours come from a masochistic mindset. That from being blindly led around. We know right from wrong. Let's do our part by not settling for less.

Institutions need no man, but we can take away the only vote of confidence they can't do without. Any dollar you you spend in any business will eventually be used by people they consider worthy, and people those consider worthy. The effort you expend will be recycled indefinitely, so you are helping multitudes. Think of that when you buy from either decent or unscrupulous people. People got where they are from successive waves of validation, which we all contribute to in everything we buy.

Honestly.  This is the one thing that gets me steamed.  How did our society deteriorate so quickly?  How did it come to be that curse words are "acceptable"?  Whatever happened to chat rooms where people actually chatted?  What happened to beleif?  Did it all fly out the window somehow, because this is something that troubles me everyday.

I went into a Yahoo! Game room.  I wanted to play some Graffiti (pictionary).  What's the first thing I see? Take a guess.

It wasn't like this 4 years ago.  4 years ago, people went to chat rooms to chat.  They didn't say dirty / nasty things.  Well, some did.  But we had moderators kick them out of the room.  Even look at this forum!  Some people here are using the F word in a place like this!  How is this tolerated by society?  I'll tell you.

Somehow, we've adapted to it.  We're fine with it.  I walk down the halls in my school; you can hear curses in general chats are you pass by, and teachers 3 feet away! How can they not care!  People are kissin in the halls, and it's totally acceptable!  

If you've ever studies history, you know that 100 or so years ago, it was impolite for a woman to show her ankles.  Go to a public beach today and tell me if something has changed.
