yes...  consider this that as a child i was aware of my 3rd eye or what is more precisely known as the 6th chakra (i think 6th...) before i ever knew anything about chakra points.  it used to tingle and vibrate and i never knew why.  as a hyperactive child (now called ADD), i was oftentimes sent to bed and would lie in bed awake but not sleeping so well my mind would race!

enough background...  i'm a professional software engineer and spend a LOT of time in front of a monitor but as a child i relized the ability of the CRT (cathode ray tube) in a TV and now computer monitors to emit a high-pitchecd frequency which most people don't hear or pay attention to any more since it's so common.

anyway, i was able to determine from childhood when someone walked in the room and where they were moving, etc. by paying attention to those sounds sorta like using a sonar!  I too have experienced the 'presence' of someone else when i'm using my computer or watching tv and i believe that this is due to pockets of air temperatures in a room allowing for the high-pitched crt sounds to be bounced around the room thereby producing the effect that someone is there.

if u listen carefully you'll hear the sounds...
if u pay attention when someone comes in the room, you'll see what i'm talking about.

then again maybe u had a visitor?

joeydood interesting explanation. I don't deny it is a possibility but I have had computers in my room for over ten years and I have never ever experienced something like that. I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just saying that in over ten years it has never happened before and there was no one else in my room at the time.

Other experiences I had when I was younger occurred when I didn't even have a TV in my room never mind a computer, and come to that i wasn't even in my room. For instance when I was about five years old I was going upstairs to my room and I sensed something wasn't right. I got to my door and tried to push it open, it opened slightly but it was being forced from the other side, I pushed and pushed but no luck, again I could feel a presence, in this case quite an awful one I was very scared, suddenly the door would open because the force from the other side ceased. Once this occurred there was no sense of presence in the room anymore. I look back now and think you stupid boy you should of run a mile but at five you don't understand these things. This happened on more than one occassion at about the same age, as a matter of fact I can recollect about five occassions this happened.

Like you I would like a logical explanation but again this was just one of many odd things that happened in my house. My two brothers and sister had odd events occur to them but I seemed to get the worst and most of it.

Note that I do not believe I am in the least bit psychic or anything like that, but I do believe there are those that are. I would love a scientific explanation for these events, truly I would. You may be right with your explanation but I have to argue why didn't it happened before if it is so common.

Sorry, but let me tell you about another recent experience, this one did scare the hell out of me. I now know it may be associated with obe's but at the time I didn't, so it scared me beyond believe.

This event occurred at some point during the night, no computer or any other electrical device was switched on. My bed lies sideways in line with the bedroom door. I awoke to see my brother James standing there, quite unsettling at first. I looked up and said "James What's up." I didn't get a reply so I leant up on my elbows and said a bit louder this time "James What's wrong." He just stood there at the doorway looking at me, it was dark so I could only see his shadow but I knew it was him. Then all of a sudden he ran towards me, jumped up on my bed (at this point I tried to scream) and ran along side me and out the wall behind me. I tried to scream but nothing happened. I got up turned on the light and never slept the rest of the night. I can honestly say I have never been so scared.

Again maybe there is a logical explanation, as I said it may be something to do with obe's, but all I know is it scared the hell out of me, it really did.

I've had many odd and totally spontaneous experiences with the paranormal since I was young but recently I had another one.  

I was in my bedroom (which I have slept in for the past 25 years) doing some work on my computer (as normal) when all of a sudden I felt a definite presence standing up directly behind me no further than a foot away. As first I didn't react, it was unsettling. Then I turned my head to the side and sort of peered behind me, obviously I couldn't see anything but I could still feel the presence. I then turned my head back towards the computer but the presence was overwhelming so I shot round on my chair directly facing whatever was there but when I did the feeling of the presence went instantly. The whole episode lasted no more than 25 seconds or so. I sensed that the presence was male and quite tall - about 6ft. I wasn't really frightened more shaken in an unsettling way. I did carry on with my work afterwards and nothing more happened that night.

Have any of you guys and gals experienced anything like this, or do you have any ideas on what it was all about?

I've got to add that this wasn't my worst experience, quite light in comparison to others but nonetheless unusual.
