Title: The X-men
Post by: Squeek on May 07, 2003, 13:29:39
If you saw any of the Xmen 1 or the books or the show or the etcetera, you may come to find that the Xmen themselves are mutants of society.  I think that they just had to think of superpowers for these guys, so they just picked an element of nature and gave them control over that. Like Storm has power over storms (How could you possibly draw that conclusion?!) And Pyro has fire. And Magneto (as you mentioned) has metal.

That's my conclusive evidence.

X-Men 2 is the best damn film ive seen in a long time or infact ever, you have to see it!!!

Someone mentioned in another thread about having the power to teleport yourself to other places, well in X-Men 2 theres a mutant who is a 'Telemorph' (or called something like that) - who has the capability to teleport wherever he wants - at the beginning of the film he's in a fight scene at the white house and you see his power in action, the fight scene is truly amazing!

Yase. I haven't seen it yet...

Matrix Reloaded will amazingly ROCK.  3 times better than X2.  Guaranteed.

Well for the matrix you can't say, "Hey, I can do some of that stuff, cool[8D]"

But seriously, i'm REALLY looking forward to the matrix, but now i wanna see X-men 2 as well. I've heard a bit about how good it is. The first one wasn't that great so this one better be! [:P]
Oh yeah! The topic! ...uh, what Squeek said (first reply).

there's this great scene where the X-Men airplane gets hit by a missile from a fighter jet and the back gets blown off and it starts to crash but before it hits the ground the back suddenly closes up (it sorta crumples back together) and it stops still a few metres above the ground and you wonder what happened, and then it shows Magneto standing below the aircraft just holding the aircraft in thin air above him with his hand raised and he says to Mystique (the shapeshifter) 'when will these people learn how to fly'.
Its one of the good scenes like the fight in the white house.

Sorry for ruining it for those who havnt seen it yet [:P] but its just too good not to talk about.

Now I get to ramble on about the Matrix Reloaded.  Since I have been watching its progress almost every day for the past 18 months, I have a bit of knowledge as to some behind-the-scene thingsies. Hehehe.

If you didn't already know, this move was planned to come out about 6 months ago. Several setbacks occured, such as the actress protraying "The Oracle". She died.  That's what cigarettes do to you.  Also, Aaliyah was supposed to be a major role in the movie. We all know what happened to her.

Now for some Matrix cool stuff! Yay!   ...Wait. This has nothing to do with the topic. Sorry. I leave now.

Hi,
I just watched a show on MTV - The making of the film 'X-men 2'. And I noticed that some of the people's names have the start of the kinesis' that they do. e.g. Pyro does fire (as in pyrokinesis) and magneto (as in magnetokinesis).

Cya,
James.
