Vipul patel..
did anyone get chance to scan through these articles/books?
Please let me know what you think.

The first book I see: Brahmanism.
I'm all for the Hindus, they came up with Yoga and Tantra and the Kama Sutra and Gama the wicked wrestler guy...
But isn't this more a 'world religion' topic than a metaphysics one? Thoughts influenced by religious opinion lack the neutrality for scientific consideration. This isn't to say that you can't be religious, but you just can't bring it into the points you want to make, unless it's proving the religion itself.
I will get some of these though, if he has made a neutral enough standpoint that doesn't try to change things about you besides the things we want, then I'd like it.
A girlfriend of my friend's is Hindu, so it can't be all bad. I love the dot.
Brahanisnm-- yes it is a word from Vedas ( an ancient Hindu scripture) but if you look into the subject matter ( please read an expalanition of one or two verse --any at random), it will taeach on how one should live their life as a self-less service to the society regardless of the relegion they practice..
I think it applies to all like the nector behind teachings of all enlightened souls. ( NOT RELEGIONS, DOGMAS or RITUALS WHICH HAVE LOST THE ORIGINAL INTNET IN MOST CASES)

I think that living life only to serve others would not be really enjoyable. Why do most of the spiritual ways talk about that?

I think that living life only to serve others would not be really enjoyable. Why do most of the spiritual ways talk about that?
Because if everyone served everyone else, you would be served as well by everyone else. Hence, service to others is self-service. Although that reasoning is easily turned on its head by people like Adam Smith, who said that if everyone acted on self-interest, then everyone's interests would constantly be served.
Thoughts can be detrimental as well. This is why R.B. teaches his mind clearing techniques! When transferring energy, sub-vocalization (your mind talking to itself) can get in the way. Even if it feels as though your affirmations are helpful, it much more often gets in the way of letting the energy flow of its own accord.
Society soshmiety, the key word is BRAHMA, a Hindu god, thus, religion.
Who says we're here to serve society?
Never been a communist thinker myself. There' something I don't like in this service thing...but I can't quite put my finger on it
I am a little confused with your definition of communist thinking..
Self-less service is volantary and not forced.. One can do it only when one becomes self-content. Then the only thing left is to share what you have.. And that is love and peace. All enlightened people of all faiths and relegions have done it and that is why we remember them.
Do you remeber the overachievers who won the gold medals in Olimpic in last olympics or was the richest person on the earth a century ago or even twenty years ago or do you remeber a person in your life who did something for you and touched your heart many many years ago?
The heart toucher, but I bet a lot more people are going to remember the gold medalist.
Even more important: why do we care who remembers us? Being known and having precious friends is important, but you'd think you'd be doing it for the sake of the act and not because you want people to remember and 'owe' you.
It is communist morality, not communist government, obviously. I actually think communist government is silly because it's not voluntary, it only works when voluntary, and the only way to be sure it is is to establish it as a capitalist government.
I don't subscribe to communist moralities though, at least not fully. Communism has plenty of benefit, otherwise the world would be too hostile, but we have to put limitations on it.
I did not say that self-less service means that one wants people to remember and 'owe' him/her. If that is the intension, the act can not be considered a self-less as it is done to satisfy one's ego. A Self-less act is done because of compasion and love towards oither human beings.
Aynway, how many of you reading this post can name five gold medalists ( any five sports) from 982, 1986 or 1990 olympics. How many of you can remember the worlds reachest man in 1950 or 1970.
And how many of you remeber a person ( may be an unkonw to you) who helped you in need unexpectedly and without asking. I do remeber details of an incident when some one stoped by and helped me when my car was broken down on Gardan State Parkaway ( New Jersey).

I've read "Thought Power". It is an excellent book. It is such beautiful english. The author uses precise and interesting language. I wish I had this in hard-cover...
I will look into where to buy a hardcover.
If you do a search using keywords :
divine Life society Shivanada books;... you will find the organization who publishes this book..
I think they have an online oredering system where you can order the book.
The other place you can try is www.arashvidya.org and go to book store .. They are in US and they may have the book..
Let me know at patelvipulk--at--hotmail--dot--com if you can not find the source to buy the hard copy.
If you like to read on similar subject, you may also like a book by Sri Ram Sharma Acharya ( Free online E-Book) titled ,, The extra Sensory potentials of mind:-- http://www.awgp.org/english/books/extra_potentials.pdf

QuoteThe social norms and governmental laws may constrain the conduct and visible deeds of a person. But everyone is totally free in the unlimited expanse of mental creations, imaginations, thoughts, feeling ... etc.
Soooooo true !!
A good question should be : what if you could have and/or be whatever you want !?
Thanks for sharing

patelvipulk,
I don't trust anyone who forces something like vegetarianism on others (like Gayatri Pariwar in your last link). Forcing a way of eating on someone can hurt them more than helping, depending on the person.
weetabix,
By being human, most people and what they wish for will most likely be very nice indeed, however at least one person will also most likely be banished or cursed in some way. I definitely do not want what I wish, unless I know that won't happen.
Do they FORCE or do they promote vegetarianism on others?
IWhy did you feel that they force vegetarianism on others? I do see it as an issue if one shows the benifites of /logic behind vegitarianism and let others choose based on the merit of the concept.
IMO, no one should force the ideas on each other.
I myself was born in a vegitarian family and become a non-vegirtarain in my youth. Recently, I become vegitarian again after doing an experiment three years ago after observing my own thoughts and linking them with the type of fod I eat.
By the way, there are some good books in English in the literature sections of the website like sleep dreams and spiritual reflections and the extra sensory potenitals of mind.. Also a few books on the future of humanity the way the founder of the Gayatri Parwar ( who was a great yogi and spiritual master of morden times). His autobiography ( my life, its legacy and its message) can also be downloaded from there
Vipul..
I did my own experiments and thinking. I found heavy red meat needed to go, and I'm a biggish sized guy. But that stuff stays in the system longer than any other food. Apart from MacDonald's plastic trash.
Quality is real important for sure. Now I'm using chicken, fish and lots of veg/fruit where I can. It feels right at this stage. But I'm only doing healing and simple energy work rather than trying for enlightenment :-). Easier that way for me.
The following article also played a role in my thought process of becoming a vegitariean and I thought that I should share it with everyone.
The intent is not to force vegitarinism on everyone but just to present thoughts from Eastern ( Indian) way of looking at it.
Are Humans Vegetarian by Nature?
Without creating any controversy or difference in opinion let us realize some basic facts.
The length of the intestine of vegetarian animals is 30' – 35' compared to 10' – 12' in case of non-vegetarian animals.
Vegetarian animals have flat teeth compared to sharp and narrow teeth of non-vegetarian animals.
Vegetarian animals have flat nails compared to sharp and very strong nails of non-vegetarian animals.
New born babies of vegetarian animals have eyes opened while they are closed in the case of new born babies of non-vegetarian animals.
Vegetarian animals do have sweat glands all over the body while non-vegetarian have them only under neath paw.
Vegetarian animals drink water or liquid food with the help of the mouth, lips, and tongue, while non-vegetarian animals use the tongue only.
Did you compare these facts with humans? What do you think?
I am aware of many studies showing the need for non-vegitarian food for
growht of the physical body. However, I got puzzeled when I read some books of the spiritual masters from India that what you eat has a big impact on your mind and your thoughts. And I tried an experiement myself and got convinced.
This is what I did. Everyone hsould do what they feel is right and important for them..
I'd rather eat raw meat and plants than plants alone.
yes a little bit of raw fish does its good!
Our teeth are those of an omnivore, able to chew, tear and deal with a variety of food types.
Our digestive system has the enzymes and chemicals needed to deal with meat, fruit, veg etc. However we can't digest cellulose-the main source of energy in grass for example. We use it as roughage instead.
So just on a physical level we were designed/evolved to eat meat, fish, cereal, veg and fruit etc. We were NOT designed as vegetarians or vegans or macriobiotic vegans (personal rant on that last hehe).
Also we were not designed to eat highly refined foods like white bread, many sweet foods either. Certainly not designed to eat incredibly highly concentrated sugary or salty things. Nor tenderised plastic like macdonalds crap :-).
How we get our meat might be more important. If you obtained the meat yourself in a manner that was far more humane and suchlike-instead of eating a factory farmed and killed animal may well make a far huger impact than becoming vegetarian. How our meat is obtained is more of a reason to consider being a vegetarian (never vegan for me though!) than anything else.
I apologize, generally people promote things around my neighborhood tend to not accept any other way of life.
As far as how and what to eat, just follow your dreams and you'll be happy.
As I have said that I do not believe in forcing my beliefs on others. There is no reason.. Every one of us are differnt. But by sharing, we can understand each other better and become more tolarant to each other's beliefs and sometimes find our own belief changing. That is what happend to me when I became vegitatian and now I have my reasons.. And someone is a non-vegitarian and they have their own beliefs and reasons.

I recently watched the movie " what the bleep we know". I like the scientific explanation of how thoughts impact the reality.
Did anyone else get to see this movie?
Vipul..
I heard that the second part of the movie what the bleep do we klnow is coming out soon. does anyone know about it?
You should live your life to serve others... interesting concept, but personally, I don't buy it.
If there is a meaning to life, and its quite possible there isn't one, I believe it is to be happy. How you do this is your own issue, but happiness, and the pursuit of it, is something that must be a purely personal goal. Some people may find happiness doing things for their loved ones, sure, but in no way should this preclude people from seeking individual happiness.
After all, when its all over, all you have is the memories of what you left behind, and to me the idea of a life spent with as much happiness in it as possible is a lot better than a life spent sacrificing for others.
All your posts are valid... I'm an omnivore myself, for a while vegetarian for not-normal reasons (I had a dream- don't ask)- But can someone explain to me what a macrobiotic vegetarian is? Do they eat big vegetables? I've seen it in many diet menus but none actually explain what it is.
Thank you.
you are welcome..
