Prophecy: signs and symbolisms in precognitions

First, I'd like to start by saying I've only been working with dreams for about a year now. So I'm very new to this. However, I've done a lot of reading on different aspects of dreaming (shamanistic, lucid, astral, spiritual, etc). So what I post below is not intended to be authoritative in any manner, rather my own understanding thus far in this area.

I do want to throw out a suggestion regarding symbol interpretation. From everything that I've read and have personally experienced, symbology varies person to person. And some of the symbology you reference (loosing teeth and the number 4) seems to be only associated to death or number of days, respectively. My sense, however, is that this interpretation will not be the same for everyone.

I've never dreamt of raw meat. However, the number 4 has appeared a number of times in dreams. I have also dreamt of loosing a tooth only once, though it is apparently a very common dream theme. And I have had a number of dreams of corpses. Luckily, I haven't had any family deaths or terrorist attacks that can be attributed to those dreams. But, thats not to say that the interpretations you provide, based on your own experiences, are not correct. As I've stated above, I think many of these symbols can be very subjective and should be evaluated based on the persons feelings about the symbols within the dream.

I guess my only comments here are:

1) go with your feeling, intuition, reaction within the dream and focus on those feelings as an indicator for what the dream meant;
2) my only prophetic dreams were somewhat 'bland' regarding symbology because the dreams showed the future events exactly as they appeared several days later. There was no symbology to interpret.

So I guess I really didn't contribute too much regarding symbology. Sorry!

Thanks Novice for getting back to me so promptly.

I am actually not surprized by what you mentioned, since in other forums I have had the same answers: basically that none had the same experience. Then someone wrote that the experience we have might be similar in a similar group of people, where the similarity might be the family, or the tribe, or the religion or the national identity, etc... So your are confirming what I expected, but I am still curious to see other's people answer on that. It is also true that dreaming of loosing a tooth appears also in 'normal' dreams.

The symbolism and signs is a difficult topic since we (or maybe each of us separately) have to discover what represents what (or what each symbol means). So it is indeed a long a lengthy process.

By the way I did not refer to number 4 in particular, it was just an example where the number of similar objects in a dream represents the number of days to pass, and here this is very explicit in that bible story of Joseph.

Was your premonitory dream about a special event in your life or just a 'daily activity' with no importance?

The longest dream I've had was watching the events unfold of my neighbor announcing the birth of his first child.

Other dreams (and waking experiences) were usually short and 'insignificant' events, like hearing the phone ring before it actually does (that one happened a LOT with me in my teens). Other stuff was intuitive information while awake, not during dreams.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

Shaman-

I can say that i have had precognative dreams before.  This is what really got me interested in AP, and others.  Usually I will not remember the dream until it actually happens.  I had a dream when I was about 7 that it had snowed, and I was outside on the sled in front of my house.  A few years later, that actually happened.  I picked up on the dream as soon as I was on the sled.  I have had others also, but they were vague.  I have tried to remember them as best as possible, but most come as a deja vou, if you know what I mean.  I felt that these "deja vous" were so strange, that I researched what was going on and found out that I am able to see the future, but only remember it later due to my lack of knowledge on the subject (IE:Society has washed my talents to a bare minimum.)  But I feel nyone can see the future with practice.  When I want to have a dream about the future, I tell my self just that before I fall asleep, and within a few weeks, i have another deja vou!  I ish you lots of luck with your talent, and hope that we all become aware of these talents.  We are all connected in some way, just blineded by society.[:)]

i had a dream about a boy that i went to school with (this all being 20 years ago) I had never met the boy, but i knew i saw him at my school. In my dream, he rode a 3 wheeler ATC across the sharp curve of a road towards a strwberry field. A blue truck came around the bend and hit him and he died.

I saw the kid at school the next day and told him about the dream i had about him..

of course, he laughed at me, told all of his friend, who told all of thier friends, and the whole school was laughing at me.

on monday morning, i arrived at school and the people parted like the seas around me. they were all looking at me and freaking out. my best friend grabbed my and hauled me into the bathroom and told me that everything i had said happened.

the accident occured at the end of the road i actually lived on.

after that, i was a marked individual. i was just a kid, and everyone treated me like a satan worshiper or a witch or something, and the ones who wanted to be my friend only wanted to see more of the wierd stuff.

many more things have happened since, i'm over it now, but i wish i had this outlet back then!!!A.

Sorry to be a bit late... but it took me a while to dig back into the old postings I did and realized I had missed some good answers. So I just wanted to thanks those who kindly shared their (prophetic) dreams here.

Shaman,
I records my dreams in journals. The act of writing the dream down seems to have an effect on the subconscious to open up new info to me. In my last few years of regular dreaming I have developed an intuitive awareness that had escaped me before. The added intuition seems to contribute to my ability to reconstruct (assimilate) some or all information readily available. All information is already out there (akashic records), it's just having a plan or system to be able to form a system of retreival. Your probably already aware of this since you express interest on the subject. For me I had lucid dreaming but didn't know it for what it is until coming to this forum. I use to call it my imagination. The last few years I have in addition been having regular dream recall.
I have had two prophetic dreams. One came true the next day. The other, a few weeks later. I think in some people all dreaming comes true. It's just a matter of discovery. Some dreams represents a span of time of growth. To be specific, this one dream was about constuction taking place in the area of two houses west of me. As time passes, I see the people who actually live in these two houses as the messengers in an abstract sense. If your familiar with synchronicity, messages happen. This place and these people west of me have come to be my getting in touch with another aspect. [:)]
Generally it seems to me that a hole or dug out space has to do with a process taking place. For instance my spiritual journey of the last few years was reflected in an early dream of a church torn down, starting at the basement level, the building begins. These obvious dream symbols help in identifying the same shapes in other dreams. Consistently anything square or rectangle on the ground in my dreams means construction (in my real life). I no longer need the actual bulldozer or other equipment represented. This is because once receiving the message, the mind simplifies or compacts symbols to make for more info to come in. Something like learning to read, either your on the train or not, learning is fast. My most frequent symbols as most people are houses, rooms, vehicles, roads. I can build on my symbol library by becoming more familiar with the basics. Repeated dreams with these basic symbols take shape and pattern. For instance, a man in a truck was pointed out to me as being a long time deceased relative of mine. The person and the truck is essentially me, so how is my cousin me? Interesting puzzle. Don't know yet, but I'm working on it. People and spirit identifying is a little more difficult for me.

I have become familiar with my higher self. This has been a big milestone for me. Earlier I was other aspects that had more specific attributes such as witch, wizard, girl, boy, etc. Witch/Wizard have intuitive meanings. These characters are associated with magic, manifestation and the like. This covers a lot of territory in dreams and waking life.
The observer (not actual participate) is when and where I get most my insight (possibly thru spirit or higher self). Being in first person seems to have a more manifesting message on a personal basis. Playing roles in a dream seems to be about my outward world in which I interact with.

I've been fortunate to have someone who I interpret dreams for. This person has very few blocks to work through, so learning the deep concepts of dreams has been easier for me. Most dreams of the average person contain blocks, barriors, and basic everyday problem solving. These kind are challenging but I like the dreams with the deeper messages, prophetic dreams included. Learning the symbols and the astral environment is part of moving toward the prophetic I believe.

Raw meat isn't something I have experienced. It's interesting you have gotten a system going on it.
I would be interested in any current dreams you have that you can see as prophetic.I also like how you have brought 4 into play. I have a loose concept about 3 & 4 in relation to triangular thought. Something along the lines of interchangable ideas and thoughts.

The subject of dreams and symbology can go on an on. [:)]

Hi Wisp,

thanks for sharing your dreams...

There was a dream that looked premonitory, I posted it under the title Premonitions in the middle east. One part of it was very direct with no symbolism, just seeing the things the way they are. The other part was more difficult to interpret. See the details there, in the same forum as the one here.

Cheers.

i also keep a journal of dreams or anything else that i feel could be precognicious. one time i recorded a strong image i got during a medidtation session. "A serpent that was withering before my eyes" is what i had recorded. it just kept repeating in my head untill i became  concious of the physical world again and actually starting the thinking process of what this could mean. i never figured it out that day. but exactly one week later, i found out that the snake from my meditation looked kinda like the snake in my biology class. the next day i found out that the snake died overnight from mal-nutrition and starvation. this is when i really became intrerested in pendulums and a week after that, i became in contact with my spiritual guide, Ianei. i record everything that he says in my journal now.
thought that would help,
with much blahness,
Sean

I've had two that I can a)remember, and b) That actually happened in real life, but in both of them I was able to answer my own questions straight after asking them, as in the dream i was given the answer.

It confused a lot of people.

AS you all know dreams come often in signs and symbolism, for example water can represent purification, spirituality, ... the house represent our mind/brain, etc...

Prophecies have often come in dreams as precognitive dreams, dreams in which one has visions of the future. Such prophetic dreams are described in many places, see for example the old testament, the story of Joseph, Daniel, etc...

What I want to address here are the precognitive dreams of everyone (if anyone knows s/he has such dreams) and the signs and symbolism that appear to be used in the dream. A good example that I know of is a dream of raw meat: raw meat represents the death of the physical body and if one dreams of raw meat it means that someone is going to die. If you dream that a piece of raw meat is given to you (and it is not meal time in the dream) then there are good chance that your transition (death) has come. If the meat is given to someone you know, then tha persons will die, etc... Other symbolisms that I know of are the teeth. dreaming of loosing a teeth represents the lost of a family member. If one dream that s/he loses all her/his teeth then the dreaming person might die, etc... Other symbolism that I have experienced are associated with terrorism, where when I see in a dream a corpse laying on the floor it means that a terrorist attack is imminent. Other symbolism is in the numbers as follows: I dream of 4 identical pieces of raw meat and the it means: 4 days will pass and a person that I know will die (for example). Here I do not give more details, since I just want to give the examples. If I happen to have a specific premonition I will post it here for  it to be checked. The premonition can come in vision where I see things, or it can come in hearing a voice - all these during normal night time dreaming - not during astral projection.

I would be glad to hear of anyone who has premonition and whether signs and symbolism are used and how they are used. Thanks.
