By "virtual music" do you mean hearing music as you fall asleep or in dreams?  That's something i enjoy from time to time.

As to your vivid images, fall asleep.  Only sorta joking.  I've had it happen exactly as you describe once not that long ago.  It did start to get annoying the way it just went on and on and ...  At some point I rolled over and went to bed.  And that was after what felt like a 30-40minute viewing.  Try to have some patience with the phenomenon, however.  Maybe go to bed sooner so if you lose an hour to images you can still wake up fresh for the new day.  Set the alarm an hour early too, and if you don't get the images that night, you can get stuff done in the morning hour.  If you do get the images, just snooze on through till your regular wakeup.

I wouldn't recommend trying to increase these experiences.  I would encourage you to accept them, however.  There is nothing to fear.  I can understand that it is a little trying on your patience and belief system right now.

Did you see Minority Report? You'll probably sympathize with the female precog when she says, "I'm tired of the future."  These images have a high proportion of unpleasant scenes, I think.  The energy behind those events makes them easier to view.  View what you can and go to sleep when you must.  Remember that these images are for you.

Best wishes,

Hi VM,

Yep, if I've got a handle on what you're saying, I know the feeling well, as I get it quite often. Don't think its a problem of any kind.
If you've ever tried having a cat-nap through the day these images will come a lot more frequently.
I'm no expert on dream states, but my wife studied dream phenomena in uni as part of a psych course and we chat about it often.

I think what you describe is basically a pre REM sleep stage where the concious brain is still more or less online. this tends to produce the effect of being in a dream state, then all of a sudden the waking mind reasserts itself it which brings you out of it. Because the conscious mind is still quite active at this point you can get a fairly strong link happening between the conscious & subconscious which can lead to some rather strange results. A fair ammount of time can pass by during this process, which can be disconcerting, but nothing  to worry about. You'd be surprised how little time we actually spend in REM sleep state through a night.

Hi Virtual Musician :-)

I think James is right in describing your phenomenon as a kind of  pre-REM condition. Also, I think Robert Bruce explains it as a sort of untrained pre-clairvoyant condition relating to third eye activity. (I hope I have explained that correctly Robert). When my mother was alive she would have these images a great deal when she was 'daydreaming' ie., when her attention wandered when she was washing up for instance. She told me once that it was often like watching a TV screen - but often the events ended up unhappily. This is, I as I understand it, third eye activity. The best way to learn to control this is following Robert's methods in his Astral Dynamics book and taking up, if you can and are willing, some regular formal discipline of meditation. Even if the meditation is lying down and 'watching' your breathing.

These phenomenon are not things to fear - they are are the beginnings of psychic gifts. But they can be worrying if we don't understand them. However it is safer to pursue spiritual disciplines to balance psychic acitivty and grow in a way that you can handle these things ethically Psychic gifts can become  by-products  of spiritual development and this is by far the safest way around to develop psychic abilities. Sometimes however psychic awareness pushes the door open to  our spiritual life... there is no real 'correct' order in growth and development, we are all so beautifully unique.

I hope this helps.

Warm wishes,
Shirley

Hi folks,

I am not sure where to put this so plz advise if it's in the wrong place and I'll repost for a better response.

When falling asleep (mainly at night) one or twice a week I SEE vivid images. They do not appear to be in my head but as if I am looking at a photo on the inside of my eye lids. Sometimes they are just outlines in the merky red/black of my eyelids but most are colorful images of mainly people (sometimes scenes). Some can be disturbing and i am rather concern as to the cause.

Have any of you guys ever had anything similar or know of some history of this (or even, indeed, how to sto it!)

Thx for reading,
VM
