Your a good person, and if you did not know, I put all my faith in everything you and candieapple have said to me. EVEN though faith hasnt been good to me, but yet I see it still, I'm still going after what I believe in. Channeling has pondered my mind for months, months before I knew about OBE's, if it were true, how I can learn it. well maybe you can go in depth with this thread, thanks good bye

Such a spirit is in MY opinion not of God and you should not lay yourself open to it. Walk with care. I am a Christian and would say be prayerfull care full and claim the protection of Jesus and his Holy Spirit.

This is all excellent, of not plain common sense advice!
It is indeed true that you have to be rid of ego if you're going to get anything at all positive out of it, otherwise it all becomes some self serving "hobbie", and the true guiding spirits are simply not interested in being part of this.
Though I'm quite familiar with the concept of channeling, and have indeed sought information from a guide for the sake of helping someone else's understanding, I'm really hesitant to call the communication I share with my guide "channeling" as such. This is simply because its more of a personal matter - she is my teacher and I her student. That's about it.
My communication is of that telepathic variety, but the messages are intended mainly for my own personal development. Having said that, it is now commonplace for my guide to "edit" and "error check" most of my posts on this forum. Usually just a gentle nudge here and there as to what I possibly should or should not say. Hopefully others find some of my writings helpful, so I guess it does fit the "channeling" bill somewhat.
It is solely through direct contact though. I stopped using a pendulum with in a couple of days of starting it. Just didn't feel right for me. Testing and determining the trustworthyness of the spirit you're talking to is absolutely number one priority. This has always been the concerns with ouija boards, where people do not take the proper precautions, and end up contacting more mischevious spirits who are often close to the surface of this world, and have no interests other than their own in mind.
This is a good topic Mustardseed. I hope some good and valuable responses are added.

Please tell us how do you channel?
It would be nice to see some channeling experiences ...
As for myself I only have second hand experience with seeing people channel online. I can't tell for sure if that person was really channeling. All I know is that he felt different and knew things he didn't seem to know before. From what I gathered a channel is quite demanding on the channeler and the actual knowledge of the channeled person is reduced to a minimum and quite hard to obtain sometimes.
This channeling was one between two physical beings but through a spiritual link. So not quite the same as normal telepathy which I see as a mental connection between two beings where they can read the others thoughts. The hosts mind and control over his body were largely taken over as he sat back and watched. He could take control back at any time and speak up when he wanted though.
That is it for my channeling experiences. I don't really know what to think of it all but I am definitely very interested in experiencing a channel myself and already tried a few times but never got any futher than a faint feeling of another presence trying to push through and maybe say something. Might have just been my imagination though.
From time to time I get 'impressions' of ideas which seem to be hints of what I should do. About a week ago I had the impression of a question that asked, "Would you like to be a channel?" and (regretfully) I decided no I did not because I would feel I would have to type all my channelings out for people and it would be boring.

So... anyway I may have blew that one but I'm preparing to learn it and make up for it.

Funny you should ask. I have gone through some rough times recently (ironically, I like it in a way because I know I'm growing... painful as it may be) and have also wanted that one on one communication with God. I had been dowsing and fear that I use telekinisis when using the pendulum and went back to automatic writing. I had done this before, however, I forgot how effective it was. Yesterday when I was thinking about this exact subject, my computer freaked out a little and opened a new message in my inbox when I was in this chat room (I usually have to deliberately open my inbox to read a message in it.) I looked at the message and it talked about Neale Donald Walsh and his "Conversations with God" book.
It talked about how Walsh just sat down and took a sort of dictation from God. You can tell it is God or your higher self (the part linked to God... some call this the Holy Spirit) by understanding that God will always give you loving, positive messages (negativity will be absent from the communication) and will be ever patient. Since yesterday, I have channeled about 3 pages of Q & A and it is telling me things that I thought may have been true, however, it places it in a conversational tone and the answers I get are written in a way that are not my normal writing style (as if spoken from another person.) I will cut and paste the email I got and send it to you in your personal message box.
To do this, you just start typing and as you think of the questions, an inner dictation will follow... at your pace. You can also meditate on it, however, I find the AW method to be more useful because sometimes I have so many questions, I forget the answers (fortunately God doesn't mind repeating herself)

I have been thinking and praying about this a lot, and I would like to bring this point to the attention of the AP members at large. I ask that we all lay down any hostilities or agressions and seriously debate this subject.
What is channeling? . How does it work ? and who can do it ? and if it can be done how is it done?.
To begin the discussion I would like to especially apologise to Steel Hawk , it seems that you did get very offended by my posts and I am very sorry about that. To my defense I would like to say that I really meant no harm, I sincerly want to be able to talk to God the way I did and according to my beliefs he should answer me. Allthough I believe he sort of lead me to do this in a maybe hollywood type of way , I feel confident that HE inspired the posts anyway. This is my belief....I channeled God.
I have a channeling that I will save for after this post as it might be a bit preemptive but I have thought a lot about it and believe that it might just be possible. There are certain points to remember and ponder and the Channel also have to be considered, and this is what I would like to discuss. With almost 400 hits on this thread it seems evident it is important or interesting to a lot of people.

I understand that most of you Christian Fundies 9Fundementalists)and maybe you Neags (new agers) will be getting out the nails by now but before you crucify me, tell me if I am breaking any law that Jesus laid down. Or if my points are invalid. The 1o commandments are null and void, and if we should judge each other by them we would all be dead by now. Ro 7:4 . (this would apply to Christians)
