That link goes to some excellent information. I was just wondering about what I see when I look for auras - a very easy-to-see and distinct outline very close to the body, kind of smoky with a dark outline around it. That link quickly answered that one for me.

I used to think (well, like most things on this site) that auras were bunk, more bunk than most things. I decided to take a look, and so I read the book You Are Psychic! by MIT grad Pete A. Sanders, Jr. I highly recommend this book as well, though for aura vision, the link posted is more than adequate.

I've never tried this before and thought tonight was good enough to start and now I have some questions..[^]

I put my hand up infront of me, with a white wall as the background.  It took only a few seconds before I started to see what just looked like a white glove around my hand.  But when I looked at the link, that Stephen provided, white was not on the list..story of my life.[]  So I did a google and they had white as signifying "Health and vitality. It also indicates spirits are present."  Has anyone else seen white?

I don't know, did I even see my aura, or was that just a normal eye reaction due to the background?

EDIT: I just did another google and looked at yet another site, and this one said..
White: Rarely seen by itself, white reflects truth and purity. Babies tend to have total white auras while those who are at peace with death. I feel this is due to one being honest within one's self, and feeling that the soul is in acceptable fashion to move on to the "Otherplane".

This sounds right.[] eh, wishful thinking..  I should have been doing this long ago, I've been unfocusing my eyes like that for years..

A good way I have found for practicing with the aura is this.Place your thumbs and index fingers together (keep the middle fingers with the index fingers). This forms a triangle frame, great for being able to see the aura in a confined area. Looking through the triangle (roughly,arm's length) you can see various shapes and shades develop. If you look indirectly at the darker areas, these will turn in to color. Before the color is seen, you may first see dark dots (or shadows).These dots/shadows is what turns in to any particular color. Try in various lighting. If you get any stars or specks of light, go to a darker room. If the sparkles continue in partial darkness, take your fingers apart. This will disperse the sparkles collected in the triangle formed by your fingers. The sparkles will do some interesting things.

A good way of telling if your making progress, you will see what looks like a clear film between your fingers. This clear aura will be seen easier with practice. This film is similar to the liquid film seen before blowing bubbles from a ring.

can some one please in as much detail as possible tell me what a aura is? And how do people know what color they are, how can u see them? Do you need a special gift to do this?
