Title: 10 of the Weirdest Futuristic Scenarios for the Evolution of Humanity
Post by: Lionheart on July 06, 2012, 02:18:45
I saw this recent news article and thought it might give you guys one of those "Hmm"  :? moments.. I could possibly see the Eco-Human, the Hivemind and the Uploads as being the only plausible ones here.
See here for yourself. http://io9.com/5923342/10-of-the-weirdest-futurist-scenarios-for-the-evolution-of-humanity

Wow, interesting stuff! I agree with you, but I could also see the Out of control morphological arms races.

I could see the 'Eco-Humans' as well as the 'Uploads' .
I just watched a movie today on how they're trying to create nanobots that, when placed inside of you, will be able to copy all your memory onto computers and what not. That's not something I'd want to see achieved with this nanobot technology though.

They all seem plausible to me, save voluntary de-evolution or voluntary extinction... those two don't really mesh with the human spirit or sense of self-importance too well.

A "genetic arms race" seems like it could happen soon actually, and not even for just the unborn; it will soon be possible to modify one's own genetic code to change overtime.

those were kinda cool!  As far as the extinction though, mother Earth might take care of that on her own without us having to raise a finger :)
