Im sorry to all who didn't see it but i cant explain what happened, i dont really have the patience. SO DID U SEE DARREN BROWN and that zombie game. That was just insane!

I've seen Derren Brown live.  I haven't seen the Zombie game.  But, my word, he was amazing live.

Made me wonder about a lot of stuff.  Which keeps me questioning - and I think that's a good thing.

Okay I've calmed down abit now and i am willing to explain what he did.

Working with a computer game company and a computer devloper they were able to turn a human into a vegetable state for afew minutes, using a clever method of flashing, lighting and other stuff. The Acarade computer game teh (veg)man was playing was an average zombie shoot them up, like house of the dead or resident evil.
                       HOWEVER
Once he had gone into the vegetable state they took him out of the pub(where he was playing the game) and into a building across the road which inside had the same setting as the game he was jsut playing(can u work out whats gonna happen?). The lighting and the generally mood was the same, he was put in a locked room with a gun in his hand. Darren Brown went into another room, locked, with many other people controling the lights etc.

A blow horn was sounded and he suddenly awoke(his actions were filmed with hidden cameras btw). At first the through down the gun and wondered what he was doing there, he looked around and saw a dead body of a bride on the floor. He went over to it and tried to wake it up. Realising that teh dead bride was real (as in an actor) he stood up straight and back away suddenly, he kept saying words like "What The F*ck Am I doing here!" and screaming repetitively.
Then a sudden moaing, he look into a room across from his own and saw a body coming towards him, slowly. He screamed "Who the f*ck are you!" and turned and ran towards a locked door, of which he tried to break down.
           At this point i could hardly watch

After trying to get out afew more times he turned around and pciked up the machine gun on the floor (ofcourse it isnt real) he kept saying "F*ck OFF! OR ILL SHOOT! I F*CKING WILL" ARGHHH!"

At which point loads of zombie actors appeared all moving very slowly towards him, about 10 feet to 20 feet away. He screamed again and started shooting at them, randomly. The dead bride got up and he said "WHAT THE F*CK?" and shot her. The zombies where all around him and kept getting back up when he shot them down, btw all through this he was screaming, much like a cry than a scream. He saw across the room that there was a small glass cubical, he ran towards it and shut himself in.

After this Darren Brown came out and told all the zombies to lie down, they did but he was still trying to break down the wall. Darren brown opened the cubical and the guy tried to shoot him in the gut but darren firmly grabbed his forehead until he went back into the vegtable state.

they rushed him back to the pub and infront of the computer game, a horn was sounded again and he came back into motion. Darren brown came out are asked him whether he enjoyed the "prototype". Oh which he replied (i dont have the exact words but something like)"Yeah it was really fun, you get so into it, it was fun how you had to keep shooting the zombies over and over again, yeah really good fun"

After that he was taken into a small admins room where he was shown the footage of himself before, he couldnt believe it. And was really stunned!

It's AMAZING what our subconcious minds have the power to bury.

Makes me wonder what all's in there I just don't know about.

Derren Brown has had a couple of series here in the UK on national TV.  

He is at the top of his game and really quite amazing.   Derren Brown shows us that the human mind is extremely suggestible, capable of hallucination and responding to tiny subliminal suggestions which we are not aware of.  He also uses conjury, misdirection, a huge amount of preparation and all the other tricks magicians use.  The end result is a great piece of showmanship.

Sometimes I can figure out how he does his tricks, sometimes I am baffled. His art is called "mentalism" and this book is the beginner's bible:

I agree, I saw the show and was pretty disturbed by the ethics of it.  If I had been the victim, I would have been convinced I was dreaming and launched myself through the nearest window to go flying... probably cutting myself to ribbons.  We don't know what lasting effect this experience has had on the victim.  At least during stage-hypnosis the audience have arguably "given consent" by the act of attending the show and agreeing to go on stage.  This guy gave no such consent to have his mind messed with.

It was an impressive feat, but only one of a large number of similarly impressive feats Derren Brown has performed.  For instance they showed him going to a greyhound track betting on a loser, presenting the losing ticket to the cashier, looking her in the eye and saying "This is the winning ticket".  After this she payed him his "winnings".  At the same time as saying "This is the winning ticket" he slapped the counter - don't know why.   I've seen him use the same slap gesture when influencing others, and influence them he does!

He claims to have no psychic abilities. He starts every show with the following satatement (given verbatim):

"This program fuses magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship. I achieve the results you'll see through a varied mixture of those techniques.  At no point are actors or stooges used in the show."

One of the clips is called "The abandoned wallet".  He stuffs a wallet with about £100 or £200, leaves it on a busy London street corner, draws a chalk circle round it, and leaves it for about 6 HOURS.  No one picks it up.  After 6 hours he returns, picks up the wallet, counts the money to make sure nothing is missing and walks off!

Thanks Catmeow.  

I was addressing Skamoni (his avatar is the anarchy sign).  

I am a libertarian, which agrees on 98% of the issues as an anarchist.  I asked if it was for economic issues or rebellious issues because his name has SKA in it (which is a type of music).  Punk rockers and Ska listeners tend to embrace anarchism because it is anti establishment and not for the very real free market issues.
