My first thought is, how can I set up the same thing at home on the cheap? The real-time flashing graphics is probably fairly easy, but is there an alternative to getting the peak of your heartbeat in real time with an expensive electrocardiogram machine. I'm thinking, the graphics set-up can be triggered by the peaks in sound (ie. microphone on chest).
We can expect someone to come up with something and probably make a business out of it. Meanwhile, I'm going to put my thinking cap on about this. Gotta be a way. :)
That sounds like the angular gyrus' experiments that trick the body's 'location' equipment to go 'somewhere' else. That's not a projection, although it may be an OBE in the strictest of the semantical sense.
The joke is I could design and give you the schematics of a circuit that picks up your heatbeat with a gadget that fits the end of your finger. You stick it on and within a few seconds it automatically fetches your beat.
What you'd do about the virtual reality goggles is another story.lol.

reading this reminded me of my first OBE years ago. I was busy concentrating on my heartbeat and then suddenly I was floating out in space and the sound of my heart was gone! I thought I was dead, hehe!

Know it's a late post but now with oculus rift and holophonic audio that might do the trick yeah? trippy :-o
would be an interesting experiment anyways.
