Hey, a control virus. Mmmmm I wonder if these scientists have been as busy as a bee? It might be interesting to see whats manufactured in their hive. Something there, say a resident, may be evil. Lol.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I find it hard to believe that they would do anything that would even hint at cooling off such a big divide between people, strong religious affiliation.

They'd have to give it to everyone in the government as well... considering the huge religious divide there too.  The divide isn't just in the non-political individuals.  :)

Was that a peek into your subconscious Xanth? Those who work within government no longer fit the criteria for 'people' I'm inclined to agree!

ROFL With some of the laws they churn out, sometimes we do have to wonder.  :)

But I'm referring to the fact that there ARE ideologically religious politicians.

hehe I know, you just set me up so well for that one, I couldn't help it!  :-D On a serious, how much do you think we unconsciously show are subconscious feelings through language... what started this thought - The news was on, some big American business openly shared it's ignorant feeling about homosexuals, and they had people outside protesting against the business. The reporter talked to some of them and one of them said

"I'm a big believer in human rights, & gay rights!" My point being what does the separation of the two sets of rights, in her words, say about her? Probably nothing at all, but it sparked my thoughts on how much of our beliefs, subconscious or other wise, come to light in the way we use language, and how to differentiate between a badly phrased sentence, & a sentence that gives actual insight.

Edit - I mean more like accidentally phrased with no meaning behind it, rather than badly.

Reading through that thread, I can't believe that people were actually arguing against the Mick guy. He clearly showed the video was a fake. It just shows how STRONG the desire is (1) to believe in a conspiracy and (2) to distrust the American government!

And just how easy it is to produce something like this to create a conspiracy to begin with.

There will always be people around gullible enough to believe anything and who will do absolutely no research to verify (or at least attempt to verify) results such as this.

ForrestDean

And if those who are taken in by these conspiracies out of fear, realized how irrelevant conspiracies are, whether true or not, there would be no need to do any research to validate them.  These conspiring institutions just wouldn't matter anymore.  As far as the fate of the global society is concerned they DON'T matter.  They are not important.  They are not relevant.  They are only relevant to those who choose to make them relevant.  But I think a lot are taken in by these conspiracies out of entertainment.  Kind of like Jerry Springer in a sense.  People are bored and just need something to do to entertain their ego and this is one of them.  Governments, corporations, religions and other institutions don't exclusively decide the fate of society.  To many it may seem like they do, but they don't.  They participate in this System just like everyone else participates, but they do not exclusively hold all the power.  They are equal participants in the System.

And like I've said before, all our institutions are nothing more than a reflection of society.  They were formed out of the necessity to meet the demands of society.  They are a symptom of society, a result of society, and so on.  They can only do what we allow them to do, whether we agree with what they do or not.  And if they conspire against society to satisfy their greed and their desire for power then so what.  They are no different than the average mainstream individual, because individuals throughout society are always conspiring against others in one form or another for their own self interest and personal gain.  Again, all our institutions are a reflection of us, and therefore contain the same characteristics.

Personally I find conspiracy theories and actual conspiracies boring.  For myself, I like hiking through mountain trails, and forests, kayaking, spending time with nature, riding roller coasters, and would love to try sky diving, or maybe even base jumping off a mountain cliff - now that would be cool.  8-)  But hey, that's just me to satisfy my own ego.  To those who are entertained by conspiracies, then I certainly don't see anything wrong with it.  It's just not for me.   Everyone is unique and like different things.  But to those who are attracted to these conspiracies out of fear of what they could do to society, then you have failed to realize who actually holds all the power, or at the very least have failed to realize the significance of that power.

True to the core there ForrestDean.

It's almost that some people feel that reality or the way it appears is boring.. .so they embellish it with the exciting idea that there is a story-line based thread to the way things are. Linking this and that to anything that seems to connect.

It's our own fault for seeing patterns and meaning to everything.
