Could it have anything to do with the nuclear radiation japan dumped into the ocean?

I want to say no, mainly because it is only affecting a certain region near California, and only in these Leopard sharks as far as we have seen, which are not trans-oceanic swimmers. My best guess is some kind of localized pollution which their prey is ingesting, or just a disease they caught.

poor sharkies.

some of the oldest surviving creatures on the planet.  they've survived eons of extinction level events and we just wipe them out like we're cleaning a spot off a window.

what a shame.

Aww. What the hell?  I love sharks...love Redwood City too.  Born there.
