the pyramids are something i dream to visit one day. there's so much mystery to them. is there any reasoning as to why or how the tunnels are too small for humans? is it that they are too small for MODERN humans? or too small for humans from that time as well?

how about, they weren't meant for humans to be in at all.

perhaps they were mechanical devices.

Christopher Dunn wrote a book detailing a theory that they pyramids were power plants.

Joseph Farrell wrote three books suggesting a theory that they were a giant weapons array 'a la the death star'.  (Thus the triology's title - The Giza Death Star).

point being, an anthropologist/archaeologist thinks from the perspective of their education, they wouldn't necessarily recognize an example of sophisticated engineering....

pyramids can be found all over the world, the most will still be undiscovered due to long-standing geographical Earth changes and maybe even cataclystic events

i just don't believe they are tombs.  nor that their use was strictly ceremonial.  or that they were built by humans 5000 years ago over the course of generations. 

and there are some that interpret the temple writings (which are the biggest reference to ka or ba or whichever one it is, i don't remember either) to be instructions for such practices as AP, not necessarily instructions for the afterlife, though that isn't ruled out just because it's a reference to AP as well.  and i'm not talking about little scribbles of paint up narrow shafts in the great pyramids.  i mean the carvings in temples across egypt (particularly Luxor).

also, i don't trust the guy who is (or was, something happened to him during the who egyptian revolution business) in charge of egypts antiquities.  i don't believe they waited a decade before they drilled through that stone door up that shaft.  i mean the guy found it in the early 90s and they didn't crack through until 2000's?!  BS.

you know there were what appear to be metal hinges on that stone door?

Yes, but those were for the passage of the souls, since they have to cross the regions. The spirit goes straight up.

There are though some images of aeroplanes and helicopters in abydos I think.

The soul is actually able to transform into a bird, wind, or anything, using the correct spell, at that time at least.

It's a good one.  I've read tons of these 'alternative history' books (i love them), and this one is really to the point and pulls from great resources, providing a lot of good evidence for the existence of high civilization in antiquity. Very good read indeed.

I like one called 'the Enigma of the Pyramids', by Alvarez Lopez. He follows the line of Flinders Petrie, investigating vessels made out of granite and diorite, and how they couldn't have been done with the use of copper tools as conventional egyptologists suggest.

I haven't read Petrie, but I have seen the name referenced many times.

Von Daniken likes to focus on how ridiculous is the notion of copper tools and such being used to create the stone artifacts of the peoples of egypt, peru, central america, etc., might have been where i saw that name.  i think graham hancock may have referenced him too, though i don't trust hancock and his cohorts much anymore ("the stargate conspiracy" - interesting read).

Zahi Hawass resigned as he claimed the artefacts were not being protected since the police withdrew. Don't know what happened since then though. He was always the one holding things back and refusing to cooperate. Darn, he's back again :-o

There was an article in a magazine I read recently that said he was being brought up on charges for some reason or another.  Then there was the "spin" of his excuse, which you just shared.  But yea, he keeps coming back. 

I just don't trust him, or anyone in mainstream archaeology for that matter, and he stands in the way of some of the most impressive construction artifacts on the planet (not to mention the hidden artifacts that we have yet to find, but may well change our whol perspective of our history).

There was a special on TV that was about Hawass- I was extremely surprised that they were able to show it.  In it they show how everyone is treated that works with him, and you see him throwing tantrums and treating everyone like crap, including withdrawing funding and it was really interesting how some of them learned quick how to kiss his butt and get treated better, while others 'forget themselves' and react normally to his capricious decisions and get abused for doing it.  There was one instance when they got lost in the desert, he decided that they would walk (and were rescued by bedouins) where one guy got very sick and feverish and was abused verbally when he just couldn't walk anymore.  Other horrible stuff happened, but every episode was very interesting.  I'd be surprised if anything comes out of this, though.

There was the scientist who confirmed the base of the sphinx had been damaged by water over a long period of time, Robert Bauvall, Graham Hancock and quite a few others. He insists that the pyramids were built 4000 years ago as tombs for the Pharaohs, in spite of the evidence suggesting otherwise. He refuses to let anyone use ground penetrating radar in search of the hall of records. He won't be around come December 31 2012 with any luck :roll:

That so called coffin in the Kings chamber was where the initiates went through their initiation ceremonies for one thing. Dr Paul Brunton has some interesting things to say about it in A search in ancient Egypt.

It was a good book, though it sucked for me when i first read it because I was really in to Hancock, Bauval, et al, and this book pretty much shows that they (along with the likes of Richard C. Hoagland - whom i was also into, but stookie presented me with some evidence of his trickery) are stretching the facts to fit their theories in order to sell some idea of a 2012 something or other.  Actually when the book was written I think they were pushing a new millennium thing.  Anyway, it was a bit depressing, but it makes sense.

It seems that the people with TONS of ACTUAL experience and knowledge, don't make books :/

Robert Schock is the man that said those ancient ruins found off the coast of Japan were natural formations. Since when have straight lines and stepped terraces been natural formations?

yes, he is somehow unpredictable and seemingly erratic in his conclusions, he also negates the validity of the Bosnian pyramids (which I linked here recently) joining the 'skeptics camp' here

on the other hand, he shows that he has got his own mind and does not bow down to any dogma. as it seems, he does not (want to) belong to any faction, neither the orthodox nor 'alternative' history camp, that certainly deserves my respect

Schoch is a geologist, not an archaeologist, so he sees things through the filter of his training.  While an archaeologist is trained to look for other sorts of patterns.  Thus, their opinions will often be different. 

And Schoch isn't part of the "new archaeology club" with people like Bauval and Hancock.  He's just a geologist who got a little fame by re-dating the sphinx.
