Congratulations! One important thing to remember is to remain calm. Also try to get over any fear that comes up. I know when I first started projecting I would be all excited, then when I started to leave, or when I just got out, I would get scared because everything felt so different. Emotions can be very strong on the astral, infact everything seems to be much more on the astral. So trying to remain calm is very important if you want to be able to do anything. At first you should not worry too much about doing anything. I suggest just getting use to what it feels like, as you have seen it can be rather different and overwelming. After a few times you should start to get use to the sensations, which will help you remain in control and not become afraid.

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

next time, try relaxing into the experience when you start to feel the vibrations.  Just sink into it, just flop.  It is quite possible that in your struggle to "do" something about the situation, you keep yourself grounded.  I did that for a long time!  Once I completely relaxed during the vibrations, it became easier.  I guess I got used to the sensation, and trusted it more.

GREAT!

See? It's not hard! (but it's also not easy!)

I'm glad that you had such a quick early success.  Every time gets a little more manageable.

Are ya still grinning?  I think I was walking on a cloud for a couple days after my first memorable experience.

:) :) :) :)

Hey Patty. No I think it's very hard =( You didn't read? I wrote that I gave up and decided to sleep =) But I'll try hard to go in the trance on my own [:P].
Thank you all for the advice :)

Stay calm =]

Ooohhhh - sorry, I didn't mean to come across as flippant ---

I mean that sometimes the feelings (like the paralyzed biiiip) come on their own, with no effort.  So after you 'gave up' all of a sudden the sensation was there.

Sometimes you might find yourself out of body, walking around the house,  without any effort at all. That's what I meant by not hard.

but like you said, sometimes you can try and try and try, like you did, and feel like you are getting nowhere. that can be really hard.

you can try a trick I use --- if you get paralyzed and can't 'get' out, just think about 'being' out. Just 'be' out. Sometimes that results in a very small blackout followed by me being separate from my body. I miss the exit, but I get out.  I got that tip from a guide and it works. If it doesn't work for you, you could also try listening for tips from your own guides. Mine have been quiet lately, I need to listen harder or something.

Cool! I've had a similar experience! I was trying to obe before I went to bed, but I didn't. I gave up, like you, only it was night instead of morning. I fell asleep, but later woke up in a state of sleep paralysis(no presences felt, or evil, or anything really, just nothing.) The noise I heard sounded like a really long piece of paper being ripped into two. I was thinking "Hey, I could try to project now. Nah, I'm tired, I'm get myself out of this, somehow, and go back to sleep." I kept trying to move my hands. I managed to barely move my lips and whisper to myself. Eventually it wore off, like when your leg falls asleep and then starts to wake back up. I didn't experiece any vibrations, so, you're much better than I am. Congrats!

I woke up 7 in the morning and couldn't fall asleep again. I've been trying AP for a few days now. So at 9, I tried to go in the body-sleeping-mind-awake state, but it didn't work (as usual). I gave up and decided to sleep, and it really seemed like I fell asleep. But suddenly.. all I could here was non-stopped "Biiiiiiiiiip" in my head and my body was immobile. I knew I was in the trancestate. Obviously, I was very happy over that. The happiness didn't last long though. When my body started feeling weird. Just a few seconds after I heard the "Biip" I felt those "vibrations" everyone talks about. My entire body was shaking. Now... my fear came. I started to think "Why did I ever try this. Now I'm stuck. What should I do. I can't move.." I tried to persuade myself to calm down. "I'm only laying on the bed, don't get scared", Ithought. I calmed down and got focus on the breathing. Then I tried a projectiontechnique. I imagined that my body was floating. It  didn't work though. Instead, I tried the Roll-Out techning. But I was so confused so I didn't actually did that techninque. I only mentally tried to rise up from bed at the same time that I was afraid of moving my real body and ruin the trance state.  However, when I tried that i started to hear *BRR*BRR* instead of that BIIP sound, as if my body was going to break into two parts. Maybe I really moved my physical body a bit. My eyes opened. I was very excited and my body was shivering (???) the following 10min. It was really cool.http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>.
