Hi There!
I can fully appreciate the time you have spent with this.
In my case I have been trying to get an obe since my first attempt when I was 13.
At this age I developed an interest  in Astral Projection, got a book and practiced..... well, I got a success FIRST TIME!
unfortunatly I freaked and aborted at the last minute before exit.
Ever since then I got AP symptoms and exit sensations which I constantly suppressed for years until I eventially learned to conquer my fear by - yes you guessed it.. coming to this forum. I have sinced had several good oobes and now have no fear of AP.
Now instead of thinking that I shot myself in the foot by messing with AP when I was younger and perhaps not ready for it, I am now glad, because if I didnt get on board back then perhaps I would have never developed an interest in AP. I wouldnt want to be without it now!

Knowing what I know now, seeing the world without being aware of the astral seems a fairly blinkered perception!

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you have certainly come to the right place, with lots of friendly people like yourself, all at varying levels of projection development.... Welcome!

Regards,
Douglas

It is 14 years for me. Until recently I have not even been able to create the sensations preceding successful astral projection. After about an hour I would fall asleep or have to change position. Recent conversations with DEBerryJr here have gotten me much closer to the goal, and I really do believe that I am almost there now. What I suggest is that you write to DEBerryJr and arrange to talk in real-time.

Major Tom,

You say just roll out.  Well, when should one make that roll?

I can't seem to get my consciousness out of this body.  I enter deep trances quite effortlessly, but when I make the attempt to lift an astral limb, the physical limb goes up and it kills everything.

When will I know I have seperated?

I have the same prob. k2sixx has.
I go from a hypnogogic state to a vibnrational deep trance in on e explosive moment. I remain fully aware but when I try to exit or move a part of the astral body a physical event occurs (not necessarily the movement of the intended part of the physical body). The trance is usually broken by the ticked-offness resuting from the physical movement.
If I don't try to move I normally end up getting visions or some such symbolic imagery. and the trance state can easily excedd 1 hour in duration.

Hi Corona,
I would like to agree with what Major Tom has offered. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sweetheart), is my best offer. Having an intent before going into meditaion for projection is best for me. I often write that intent on paper first.
The realms beyond the physical are vast and asking for a guide can be most helpful if you aren't sure just "where" you want to go. Having your mind set on a difinate destination is the launchpad.
Hope this helps,
Donna

Very well said, Tom.  I think of the vibrational state as a sign that you're passing through to the next phase.  Kind of like a person, lying horizontally,  slowly being lowered into a pool of water.  Once the persons back feels the thin film of the water, they start to know that submergence is near.  THey aren't ready to swim yet, because they're only on the EDGE of the water.  If they lower themselves just a little bit more, they will find themselves fully submerged and be ready to swim.

Now reverse that analogy for astral projection.  Think about slowly rising.  When you're on the edge, you MAY feel the edge of the astral realm via vibrations.  If you feel these sensations, just relax and let yourself automatically rise a little higher.  It'll be much easier to fly then.

On a slightly different note: depending on your approach and your technique, you may or may not feel vibrations.  Personally, I hardly never feel them.  Others, however, feel them all the time.  So don't always look for vibrations as a way to project.  Instead, use imagery as a way to distance your mind away from your body.  You may find that the imagery begins to take on a three dimensional shape of its own, and allow you to step into it without any vibes or noises.

Hello gents and ladies,

Thank you for the AP website!  This is the first website i have visited about AP.  I have read through quite a bit of the messages posted on this board, and have enjoyed the reading of others experiences.

A sudden pressure to figure out my strifes has become overwhelming for the last 2 days and i am compelled to post a message.  So many times have i found that if one simply follows thier heart, answers may be uncovered.  Hopefully someone may be able to lend a hand and offer thier guidance.

I will try my best to keep this post as short as possible even though i have the desire to write a novel.

I have attempted to perform OBE's for roughly 17 years now.  I haven't had much success, only twice have i successfully projected.  Both times around the age of 19.  Both instances were nothing like the NDE i experienced as a child, and while the desire to experience an AP/OBE to see if they were similar to an NDE is gone, i still have the strong desire to learn how to induce an AP/OBE.

Problem is, i can't seem to project too well at all.  I'm not too sure of terminology of many older techniques, but I have tried using the exhale of silver smoke/creation of a bodily form and cord above myself, then concentrate on awakening in that form.  Have tried the concentration of being at a point above my physical self.  Have also tried the ROPE exit (which for me places me in a hieghtened sense very quickly - thank you for this newer technique!).

I can reach the vibration state without much trouble (no problems remaining completely body relaxed and asleep and mind awake) within a few minutes.  The vibration state can be further advanced into what i believe is called the rising of the kundalini(sp?) Where one feels waves of fluidic motion and electical pulses running from an area below the feet to an area above the head and back again -- body is no longer felt at all at this point.  (is this state considered as the kundalini rising?)

I am still very much awake in mind, and can be focused and concentrating on my current state, or think about pretty much anything without breaking the heightened state.

At this point one of many things will happen:

a.  Will simply fall asleep on rare occasion (usually after 45 mins to 3 hours in vibration/fluidic state).

b.  WIll begin to fall asleep (into a dream) then awaken back in vibration state.

c.  Will begin to feel like a very tiny tiny person hovering slightly below the back of my head.  Fall down about 12" out of the back of my head, then bounce to the back of my head again.  Rinse and repeat.

d.  Fully awaken while body is asleep but still in body.  Can see everything around me in 360 degree vision, but unable to move or feel as though i am seperated.  Not maple syrup stuck type feeling, but mind completely awake while body is sleeping and unable to step out or away from body.  Concentrating on instantaneously traveling to another location awakens my body and I fall back into vibration state.

e. Feel a rocking sensation (back and forth) and a pulling/ripping sensation.  This is probably due to me training and attempting to loosen my spirit from my physical self.  Eventually I feel seasick and heightened state abruptly ends.

As for the successes:  I have always heard and felt a buzzing sound which slowly gets louder and louder till it forms into a deafening roar prior to a successful AP.  This noise eventually appears as a physical boundary to pass through before projecting.  Its scary, and kinda painful if i push through it.  However, if i push through this sound barrier, I POP through this barrier of sound and find myself fully awake in a successful AP.  Many times i have faced this boundary of sound and either been too afraid to pass, physically awoken by the intense noise, or proceeded to push through the barrier and awoken in an AP.

I've run out of ideas on how to reach this barrier of sound regularly or how to project by bypassing this sound barrier.  Any suggestions on how to project properly after obtaining the vibration or fluidic motion state would be deeply appreciated!

My love and thanks!
