Title: A bit nervous about some things pertaining to astral projection?
Post by: whitewisps on September 07, 2013, 03:09:03
I am aware there are some bad things hanging around the universe, and what is the likelyhood that I would actually see something like that my first time projecting? I'm keeping a positive mindset and trying only to focus what good and positive experiences I could have first time, but I don't think I should forget about the negative things out there. I'm sort of afraid of coming across negative entities or them being there when I first come out my body. I've heard of it happening. I suppose if I just stay in a positive mindset and don't absolutely fret over the thought then it probably shouldn't happen, but I don't exactly think everything can be controlled by what I choose to believe. Do you know what I mean? Like if I think positive, positive things will happen, but I don't quite think its always the case. I'm not the only one in the universe with a mindset, and can use thoughts to influence what happens in their life. Anyway, so I was thinking, how can I protect myself when astral projecting.. both self's I guess (in a sense). I mean my astral body and physical one. I just want to have the best experience possible, and I don't want to be scared out of it. Is there any way somewhat simple for protecting oneself?
Also, is there any heads up you can give me about AP? I've heard you can see and hear some odd things first time, and every other time after that. I just want to know what I'm in for. I don't want to be freaked out by something that is completely normal.
Thankyou!

There's nothing we can say that you haven't already heard. So I don't know what will finally give you any comfort other than to say that you already project every time you dream. You seem fine so far, other than a little fear.

How bad do you want to astral project? Is it worth seeing demons and bad ghosts or what ever it is that haunts your thoughts? If not, stop trying to project and just move on. You don't need any of this to be happy or grow spiritually or anything else for that matter.

If the answers are worth the risk, then you'll be glad you did but there is absolutely nothing that any of us can say that will make YOUR fear go away. :-)

Good luck.

Astralzombie gave you good advice.   I read to get rid of your fear is to face it.   I would advise you not to read anything negative about ap as it is not helping you.    If you ap and you do not like it, you can easily go back into your body by thinking about it.   You can imagine a white light around your body before you ap to protect yourself.   You could say a prayer.   It does not matter what you do so long as it makes you feel safe.   A lot of people do not need to do this as they are not afraid.   I do not think they do.

Look at it this way...

There are bad things hanging around this physical reality as well, but that hopefully doesn't stop you from leaving your warm bed every morning, right?

As long as you're projecting with good intentions and Love in your heart, you shouldn't have any problems.  I've been doing this my entire life and I've, LITERALLY, never encountered anything that I couldn't handle.  :)

You'll be fine.

Thanks guys, that gives me a bit more confidence. I don't think anything will happen.. I think I just over think things sometimes. I'm still trying to AP, but so far I still haven't gotten very far. Oh well, practice makes perfect right!

Perfect practice makes perfect.
What you get is basically what you think, your thoughts are the reasoning behind the actions.
It works with different rules than in the physical. the old saying "thoughts manifest" is spot on.
Fear is an issue we all have gone through. You may too, its how you think after all.

As a guide, a few on this site started out in the art at three or four years old. if anything nasty or mad demonic entities were waiting these early starters would have seen lots of it by now.
Anything you find, you can handle, its that simple.

the worst thing is "you can only scare yourself".
Its like a 3D fully interactive TV where your thoughts are the remote controller. You don't just watch, you are in the scene with anything you can think of occurring around you. If you eventually learn to phase, this becomes so apparent as the scenes develop around you.

sometimes seeing things can be a bit scary, it can not be helped I learned to cope by just "embracing" what ever I saw and stared it head on. At first I would panic then I would calm myself down and just go with it :) anyway that's what helped me :) Good luck, the fear will pass I can assure you as long as you persist!

Looke (:

A lot of the time I come lurk about and for some reason I freak myself out, even if I don't read about "demons", "ghosts" and all that. I go to sleep feeling really uneasy.
The thing is, the only time I've been scared is while awake. Never in more than 15 years of playing with OBEs have I felt uneasy while out of my body. For some reason I simply "know" I'm perfectly safe. Of course you will experience things that will jolt you awake from time to time, but in my experience nothing will be as bad as you can imagine while being awake.

As an example, I've sometimes seen pretty grotesque things and situations (I won't go into details) while out of body, and felt perfectly normal. I knew it was "scary stuff", but it just didn't affect me. It wasn't until I woke up that I started thinking about how freaked out I should have been.

Whatever happens, you are untouchable. Don't forget that.
