Basically I wen't to sleep and in like 5 minutes I fell into a void where I felt weightless, as I felt weightless, I also 'felt' like I lost the feeling to breath, and then I thought to myself, i'm not really breathing so I jumped out of my sleep, thinking I could of died. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?
So close but so far to projecting. It'll come one day, i'll just have to wait.

Yea, that's how I have most of my projection experiences... next time just relax and focus on maintaining awareness.

Mr.PumperNickle

do i still have to breathe? or just stay calm and let it pass over you?

The breathing mechanism is automatic in this state... like if you were sleeping. Do you worry about breathing while asleep? Of course not... don't even give breathing a thought. Rid your mind of thoughts and emotion and be a pure observer... focus just on observing the 'now' and you'll enter the astral from this state... sort of hard to explain, but yeah.

Boom

Its only natural to worry about the breathing. But if you stopped breathing physically, then your body would start coming under stress and as such pull you straight back into the physical - where of course you would start breathing again.

You can prove this for yourself.  Hold your breath where youre sitting now. After about 40 seconds things get quite uncomfortable and all you will want to do is resume breathing.   You cant astral project if your body isnt comfortable and relaxed.

Agree with all of the comments above, funny I have never annalysed or thought of my physical breathing while on a projection. However after exiting my body I have sensed my rhythmic breathing from my physical, but as soon as I exit and move away from my body I can no longer sense my physical breathing.

I have found that when ever I have sensed my breathing it has always been very rhythmic and deep, maybe something like 6-7 seconds breathing in and then 6-7 seconds breathing out.

However aside from that as mebtioned above you can't suffocate during a projection/OBE etc.

thanks guys! I think i'm one step closer to projecting.
