It is good to meet you. So over the last 12 to 13 years what has kept you from giving up? I ask from the perspective of having been trying for the consistent OBE since 1989. This is a good place and I hope you will stay.

Well I have to say Tom that it has been a long interesting journey so far. I really cant say what has kept me so attached to the subject. I have always been interested in paranormal phenomena, yet for some reason it always leads me back to astral projection. I have tried many techniques and have been close a few times. I have felt my hands raise up as if they were floating, I have had the fast heart rate or "Chakra thrumming", so I guess maybe that has kept me going for all this time. I really dont know. I have just been very interested in this subject since I borrowed my friends TIme Life book series on paranormal and read a segment on AP that talked about Robert Monroe and his out of body travels. It has fascinated me ever since. I have read many many books on the subject but have yet to get Mr. Bruces books. I think I will soon though.Thank you for the reply and hope to speak to you again!

I would just like to say that I have really enjoyed reading all of everyones thoughts and suggestions on this discussion board. I am a new member and like many of you, I am also trying to have my first AP. I have been studying AP for about 12 to 13 years now and I have no one in my family that I can talk to about it. I think they all think I am crazy. Especially my wife. So I just want to say that it is very nice to have a web site that I can go to and talk to other people about a subject that most people will find a little strange. I am very excited to try some of your suggestions. Thanks!
