Past Lives

  Interesting subject, certian things in my life lead me to believe in past lives and reincarnation. I sometimes wonder thougth,are some of these things tapping into some kind of collective concsiousness ?

I have been told by many people that I have an old soul.  This is not new informaiton for me.  I have always known this.  Some people have told me also that I have had as many as 5 past lives.  I personally think this number is closer to 9.  The reason I believe this is simple.  

When I was still having dreams that I could remember I was almost always some one else.  I mean it was me, I knew it was me, but I looked and acted some what different.  The same basic core individual was there but the shell was altered.  I began keeping track of this and discovered that I had many dreams where the same individuals would show up, and they would always show up when the dreams were is specific time periods.  This is what begain the thought.

Later I started loking at other people.  How they lived, what thier interests were, what got them excited, and so on.  It became evident to me how old a persons soul was by how they were in this life.  This pretty much confirmed my thoughts on the subject.

Hmm...

On a purely statistical level reincarnation cannot occur for everyone as there simply isnt enough past lives, but I believe perhaps some are reincarnated as some sort of lesson or to achieve something they were meant to but didn't.

I believe myself to be "new". I dont know why, I just do.. I feel "new"

I agree with you on that.  There are not enough souls to go around for every one to be a re-incarnation.   The way I see it some peoples souls are new, other middle aged, some older, and then thier are those on thier last leg.  

Not every soul is to be reused.  Some only get one shot.  Others get many.  I am still working on the particulars that detirmine how that works.

You say you have a new soul.  Then I have a question.  
Does it seem like everyday you find some thing that totally captivates you?
Does your most favoriate thing (a possesion) in the world seem to change weekly?
Do you seem to do things in excess?  That being totally into something one day and almost forgetting about it the next.

These are some of the traits I have found to be common with new souls.  The world is a new experience for them and they seem to try and see everything the first time.

Reincarnation is a tricky subject, but I dont think there is a problem with the number of souls.  I haven't read much about reincarnation, but it seems like a common belief is that there is a complete hierarchy of oversouls that split into lower souls.  If you trace it all the way back to the topmost soul, this would be a divine consciousness, perhaps god.  Also I think these oversouls (you might call it your higher self) can split into new shards of consciousness and can also have many shards from the same common higher self shard incarnated at the same time, so that you may be living many lives physically at the same time.
Thats why there would actually be enough souls...
You guys should check out robert's little thing on reincarnation, as well as many other websites that talk about it, because its actually very complicated in its simplicity.

I think there is a movie called "Little Buhda" that runs along similar lines.  Apparrently in the movie the Lama split into three parts and so three different kids ended up with a different piece.  It's a good movie I reccomend it.

1) Totally captivates me? Hmmm I've always been the inquisitive type but I wouldn't say that everyday I find something that totally enthralls me... though many old artifacts or relics of history do.

2) I dont really have a favourite possession...

3) Yes. Often. I will one day be entirely enthralled by an idea or something and then the next completely forget about it. I thought this might be the case on OBEs and spirituality but apparently not


I'd also like to theorise that perhaps the reason people are reincarnated is because they do not fulfill a purpose that their life was supposed to be for or did not live to what is thought to be acceptable standards to gain entry to the upper dimensions/heaven.

I have read many posts on this message board about people mentioning their past lives or about this time around. Many seem to believe that they have lived before. I am just wondering how you came to this conclusion and why you believe in past lives. Also has anyone remembered past lives?

My opinion on past lives and reincarnation is still in limbo. I do not really know enough about the subject or have enough experience to make a decision. Of coarse if I did have an opinion I would not want to force it on anyone else, to each his/her own.
