I'm relatively lucky with astral projection - as long as I meditate daily, I seem to get into the lucid, semi-conscious state necessary for astral projection accidentally about once a week as I wake up.
I figured I would share more about this in hopes it will work for others.
I use the meditation described in the "Treatise on Astral Projection" - you can read about it here - www.astralpulse.com/guide...be_3.htm#2
Under "Calming the Mind," the sections describing the meditation are titled "Relaxation," "Contemplation," "Breath Awareness Meditation," and "Surface Thoughts." This meditation I have found enables me to reach a state of consciousness that is closer to the trance state than ordinary waking consciousness (but I haven't yet gotten into trance using it.)
Why does it work? I think two reasons -
A - It trains the conscious mind to be awake when you're in states nearing sleep. This I believe causes it to awaken spontaneously in states bordering sleep, like in the morning before your physical body has woken up. And you can just project from there.
B - When I meditate, it is with the specific goal of getting into trance so that I can astral project. I think that the more you hold concepts relating to astral projection in your mind, the more you are likely to project when you find yourself in those half-lucid, semi-conscious states. It can be somewhat frustrating to rely on this, however, because oftentimes you will lack the lucidity to actually DO what you planned on doing once you've projected. I know I personally will play around with little astral blobs of matter or whatever. You have to give your mind time to absorb what you want it to do when it finds itself in the astral, and then you will do it once projected whether fully lucid or not - for this, affirmations can be helpful.
Try to do the affirmations when you are semi-conscious - this gets them into your subconscious mind better. Be careful, though - an affirmation like "I will OBE," while good because it is simple, won't necessarily ensure that you will remember your OBE once you've had it. I prefer an affirmation like, "I will OBE and remember it fully upon waking."
I hope this helps someone.
Good post!!
I agree
Me too. I totally agree. Great post.
Thanks. :)
