I'm pretty sure you are supposed to feel that you are on the same height as your hands.

"Reach out with your imaginary HANDS and pull yourself, hand over hand, up the strong, invisible, imaginary ROPE hanging above you."

That's right, and that's also my greatest problem with the rope technique - I can easily "feel" my hands grabbing the rope, but I can't feel myself moving up quite well. Sometimes I think I've got the hang out of it - I've already felt some pre-OBE sensations in such moments - but then it's away and gone again :(

We all float down here ... and if you're down here with me ... YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!!!

Thanks for the welcome!
I also felt some of the sensations especially around my hearth chakra, but as I keep on climbing as my whole body relaxes,so my arm muscles are tensing.I`m not sure how to stop this...

My problem is that I usually fall asleep if trying to climb rope for too long (or trying any other technique for that matter). I get impatient and try to climb the rope faster and faster. I actually try to force the OBE and for me it seems to create a state of mind needed for projection. I have never projected so far, but I'm definitely sure I was close. I usually get distracted by astral sounds as well as real world noises, which all seem drasticaly amplified at the moment of projection. I also feel my heart pumping at incredible rate and I wish I could say it is the heart chakra, but I am simply not sure. That is when I usually quit and wake up in cold sweat, breathing rapidly.

I am not sure what it is that I am doing wrong, but I don't think it has to do with rope technique. Perhaps it has to do with real life stress, I don't know. But what I do not understand is how I can get so close to projection while so stressed and unrelaxed. I can actually feel and move my every limb during the process and my breathing becomes faster and faster until I can no longer stand it and I simply have to wake.

Btw, nice to see a friendly face from Croatia :)

well,I`m not sure but I think that you are very close.

P.S.Ne mogu vjerovat da ovdje stvarno ima još netko iz Hrvatske!

I've never got the nack of the rope technique.  But, I did find a much better way to eject (my term for sucessfully projecting) becasue fo the rope technique.

One night I was trying to climb and I mentally gave up. I pictured myself letting go of the rope and falling.  Whoooooooooooosh, right out of the bottom of the bed.  Since then I have better luck sinking than climbing, for what it's worth [:)]
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

when i try the rope technique i end up mentally exhausted, and if youve read my other post my shoulders tense up without my control. this probably sounds stupid but i diddnt know you could project by falling lol. i think im gonna try that. when i try sinking my shoulders stay loose so im gonna try it [^] im sure the rope technique can work really well for some people, but i get closer to an OBE with my own tecnique, which is kinda hard to explain but pretty basic. im going to try a sinking exit tomarro morning.

Rehearse the climbing action in your mind implies not only hand over hand climb the rope (by use of tactil imagery), it implies (too) rehearse the climbing sensation in a way like to falling sensation along a stair or lift. Remember the falling exercise depicted by RB for to enter trance state. I think, too, rehearse sensation opportunity is at inhale time.

Hi all!
I have read the Treatise by Robert Bruce, and I don`t understand one thing about the Rope technique. While we are "climbing" the rope are we supposed to feel that we are on the same height with our hands(our body with the hands) or feel just hands climbing up the rope.
I know it`s a dubm question but I hope you will answer.
Not sure if you understand what I meant but I hop you will.
