Title: Adrenaline/Nervousness
Post by: MinstruelZ on December 28, 2008, 00:09:13
This is probably my biggest obstacle to OBE/AP. Particularly when I attempt at night, when I start to feel exit or trance symptoms, by stomach gets that nervous/adrenaline feeling and I feel more tied into the physical shortly after. My heart rate goes up, etc. Has anyone discovered ways of overcoming this? In the Robert Bruce book that I own (M.A.P.), he just recommends willfully intending to be very calm and relaxed. While I think that is good advice, there has to be some other ways of overcoming this problem. I know that time and experience is essential, but it sure would be nice to find a shortcut to this issue. Thanks!

After you experience it enough times these feelings will probably stop. Just keep your mind focused on your goal and not the feelings. How often do you attempt?

I have a similar problem, I enter the mind-awake body-asleep state now with relative ease, but when I start feeling vibrations my heart starts pounding and breathing becomes labored. Perhaps just getting used to the vibrational feeling over a few attempts will ease the process.

I don't attempt nearly as much as I would like. I've had most success when doing the wake/back to bed method, but this method isn't feasible to try during the week when I'm lucky to get 7 hours of sleep. I'm doing more attempting at night now, which I have yet to have any success in doing.

I agree with Baphomet - practice makes perfect. The best way to get over any fear & anxiety is to hit it head on.

I agree with the previous advice. If you ask anyone who has learned to project, they'll probably all say say that over-excitement was a problem at the start. It diminishes over time. You just need to stick with it.
