Tunnel Vision: How to break through the Membrane?

Hello,
Many months back i had my first OBE. I materialized at the back of my home, could walk around and be "in" the scene. Subsequently, i had similar experiences where i would travel to places in the US near the mexican border which were kind of creepy as i'd materialize in private rooms.

Then, a shift happened....

I began to develop this sort of Tunnel Vision....

Everything starts with me falling into a state where my body is heavy and i'm drifting between sleep and wakefulness.
The rushing sounds start to happen. I try to lessen them, and relax even more. Now, i'd often start to spin, or try to spin because that somehow seems to work ...
At this point i'm looking at a dark membrane of some sort, that starts to get thinner and thinner in the middle...until i can see through it.

I'd often float above a scene. Today, it was some sort of white hotel building or mansion from 50m above. Also, the surface of the moon.

MY field of view is so small (unfortunatly), that i often can't make anything out. So it happens that i can see a small part of a tree, or a building but nothing more.
These glimpses last a few seconds only before i'm drawn back into a more alert state.

Today i switched in and out half a dozen times...

I thought it would make sense to ask the experts (you ;) ) if that is a normal occurence and if there is something i could try to break through the membrane...

Thanks and have a good day! :)

Tunnel vision is not necessarily a sign that you are preparing to shift to another place, level or focus. If you think about it, it is actually a limitation to your vision. It is a loss of your usual field of vision. If you want to move up (e.g., beyond the membrane), most travelers will suggest that you move within.

In the non-physical, vision is typically enhanced from my own experience. For example, I often have received what I call "zoom in" vision when I am in the RTZ (real time zone), where I can zoom in on an object with my vision only to get a better look (e.g., the rest of me stays in place). Some also experience 360 degree vision where they can suddenly see behind themselves and to the sides without turning at all (I have not experienced this consistently myself).

With this understood, William Buhlman has some useful tips when it comes to experiencing limitations when 'beyond the physical body'. Here is a link to a free document called "Keys to Control". There are many helpful documents on this web site. Buhlman teaches week long OBE classes at The Monroe Institute. He is very good.

Good luck.

It is interesting that you are suggesting to "move within".
I might have some preconceptions of how things are to occur due to my last experiences which felt rather limited, looking through a pinhole of some sort.
The site you kindly linked provides the suggestion to demand clarity. I wonder if that will work for me personally, as it is very easy for me to get drawn back into my body with every sort of consciouss thought occuring.

Maybe it will be better to sort of "expect" something to be already there...with no need to rip appart a membrane or "fight" for a bit more clarity and broader field of vision.

Thank you :)

You're welcome.

If you are doubting your ability, you may want to begin reading (regularly) this document from Buhlman. It has some powerful affirmations based upon Buhlman's perceptions of his 40 years of out of body experiences. Maybe begin by reading one a day, because it will be a lot to digest at first.

http://www.astralinfo.org/effective-mindset/

When I began two years ago, I read this document several times and developed several personal affirmations from it. This exercise began to change my subconscious, and I started having non-physical experiences on a more consistent basis. Regular meditation (15 minutes a day) was also critical to this process (more is not always better).

We are both physical and non-physical - they are equally important from my experience here on planet Earth. The physical is simply an extension of the non-physical (which Buhlman does NOT clearly articulate). So, if we are to go beyond the body, our mind (not biological brain) must be used to focus beyond the body. When we finally "croak", we take our mind with us - not our biological brain.

This is why it will be important for you to do your own work. Good luck!
