Affecting the inner planes.

All thought is creative energy.  This is why the people of this forum have consciously decided to create a place in the astral where we can all meet (the Astral Pulse Island).  There have already been accounts from people who have gone there and verified there findings to the rest of us.

The way I see it, our thoughts go out from us into the non-physical realm where it proceeds to thrive and do what it was sent out to do.  This is why, while OBE/AP/Phasing, if you were to THINK about something, you can influence your environment and make something come to pass (ex. thinking about something attacking you, and then it really happens).

Thoughts may only seem like thoughts on this plane, but they are more powerful and creative than most people realize, which is another reason I always encourage those around me to stay positive and be optimistic in EVERYTHING you do.  Don't get discouraged if you havenn't projected yet.  Just know that you WILL soon.  Don't be discouraged about a life situation.  Just KNOW that it's all going to work out in the end the way it's supposed to.

While I subscribe to the theory that "anything is possible," I think manifesting a physical object from a non-physical place is highly unlikely.  

This is not to say that non-physical things can't influence or manifest us in our lives.  A person who is always fearing a sickness is usually one who always gets sick.  Their thoughts go out from them and bring back unto themselves the very thing they expect.  In this respect, a non-physical thought can become a reality to the person.  This is because we as spiritual beings are INFLUENCED by non-physical energies.  However, to manifest a non-physical energy into something physical (like an object), that would take some serious undertaking which I can't even begin to comprehend.

I don't think I am explaining myself very well. We are surrounded by symbols. Everywhere you look, there are symbols. Why?. Is a symbol not connected to the real thing?, to the thing it represents?.
Like the Cross for example, or Budda, ect. Or the Tarot cards.
These are symbols, are they not connected to the things they represent ?.
So having a symbol, or wearing a symbol, like the cross, or a sacred symbol, has no effect, because there is no connection, am I reading you right?
If there is a connection, simply by focusing on this symbol, magnetizes it into your life.
