Creating Reality

I think it was a Carlos Castaneda book which said that the internal dialogue is our way of preserving the world we live in. Another book (on meditation) said that most of our thoughts repeat day to day identically. Another book on meditation said that most of our thoughts aren't even really our own, and that they actually came from the people around us.

There's a great book that might interest you: The nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts. It's a Seth book if you know about that. I read it a few years ago and will probably read it again b/c it was so profound. The book came out I think in 1974 but its been such a perennial bestseller that it is still in print.
A quote from the book: "You are a multidimensional personality. Trust the miracle of your own being. Make no divisions between the physical and the spiritual in your lifetimes, for the spiritual speaks with a physical voice and the corporeal body is the creation of the spirit".
Take care,

this reality is definetly an illusion.  i have seen it break many times.  as i'm sure many of you have as well.  i believe when we can silence out internal monologue that we have no choice but to be fully present.  i believe it's this presence that will show us true reality, which is actually just the lack of any reality.

Personally, I don't like this emphasis on "slaying the slayer" or trying to break the illusion. We must be in this reality for a reason, and I believe this is to learn. Although perhaps the thing we have to learn is to break the illusion? or maybe there are a lot of things to learn, and plenty of time to do it?

anyone read any Bauldrillard? i haven't, but a friend of mine was telling me a little. from what i can remember, he states that things happen becuase you subconsciously want them too. this conversation came about because i was trying to ring my friend on his mobile, which he'd lost. it was the third one he'd lost i think lol. he was telling me how he hates them anyway... so you see....

Yes I've also heard that bad things and good things happen because we subconsciously want them to. The internal dialogue being our way of preserving this reality is quite interesting. And the fact that some of your thoughts aren't your own...also very interesting.

But perhaps humankind wasn't always a seperated consciousness. Perhaps back at the Beginning we were one concsious being, possibly created by The Source, and then because The Source's worlds had little or no meaning to our confused mind, we were placed in a realm in which we could learn - Eden. But of course, we strived for the knowledge of only the physical realm: science. That is when we got kicked out of Eden, and left on our own to evolve until the time came when we came back to The Source and learnt of our spirituality again. Perhaps the time is soon when the physical WILL melt away, possibly replaced by another.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

human kind isn't a seperated consciousness.   that's the illusion.  there is only one consciousness.  our reality is  important though.  it's not irrelevant.  trying to see through this illusion is part of my goal.  maybe it's not a must for everyone.  maybe.  there are certain things that i believe to be wrong.  there are people that i respect and admire that believe certain things to be wrong.  w/ every person there are a number of things that they blieve to be wrong that i do not.  some of these people i believe to be free from this illusion that we are talking about.  i believe if i was also free from illusion that i would agree more in what is right and wrong and would act accordingly.  being able to see things as they truly are is  a must for me.

One of the things I believe is that there is no "right" and "wrong".  Everything is energy - and it only has the meaning that we give it.  However, there are things that bring us closer to God (closer to knowing our true selves) and things that take us further away.  I also work very hard at seeing things for what they truly are - what is taking us closer to God, what is taking us further away.  What decisions are based on fear and which are based on love.  Are we the created or the creator (or both)?  We had a heavy snowfall here yesterday, so I wake up in fear of getting stuck - next thing, guess what - I'm stuck.  Did I create it?

As my third eye opens up more and more - I see that much of what we engage in is taking us further away from God - even some of what we would classify as the "good" stuff.  For the last two years the Spirit has guided me to do almost nothing but work on my own healing - other than going to work I virtually isolated myself from my friends and family.  There are many "good" things I could have been doing - working with the sick, lending a helping hand.  But spirit was telling me to plunk myself in my rocking chair every night for hours on end and spend my time in meditation, contemplation, journalling, emotional release - looking inside.  Many times I was tempted to "do" something else - do some energy healing work with other people which I love "doing".  However, this is not what Spirit was asking of me at the time - maybe it is what Spirit will ask of me tomorrow - each day anew.  I always try to remember that we are "human beings", not "human doings".  I've always felt that there are only two options for each decision - a decision based on fear or a decision based on love.  Now I am thinking that in each moment there are only two options - decision based on following spirit - and well, everything else.       A Little Bit of Food For Thought - Love  Linda.

Two ideas that are relevant to the concept of creating (your own) reality.
The first is the theory that the universe is actually one massive, magnificent Holograph. Its called the Holographic Universe. There is a book of the same name (By Micheal Talbot 1991). I have not read it yet. He discusses the ideas first put forth by Bohm - a quantum physicist and Pribram - a psychologist. Those two men idependently arrived at the conclusion that the universe is an energy projection of 4 or 5 or more dimensions. The underlying reality of the universe is that everything exists as a series of vibrations. What we take for granted as solid and material are just a series of vibrations that our brains have been programmed to believe are solid objects. So the human brain and the higher consciousness of each person is part of the great holograph - or Matrix as I prefer to call it. (Note - I posted a short paper on Matrix Theory in the Astral Theories forum.)
The second point is that many people have programmed certain Realities into their brains for a very long time. They therefore refuse to accept certain revolutionary scientific and social ideas for a long time. This would explain the obstinacy of many religious leaders and the faithful to accept modern scientific discoveries. The controversy over evolution is a good example of this.

It would be convenient to be able to think of having an object and bring it into reality immediately. Buying things with money seems very indirect compared to wanting something and creating it in an instant.

I would like to hear other people's opinions about how we create our own reality.  My personal belief is that there are universal laws that apply equally to all realms and all levels - including this physical realm.  I suppose most would agree with me on that - I guess the greater question is - what are those laws? For an answer I look to the dream world and to the astral realms. We are able to create by holding a thought/feeling/image in mind or in intent.  What we experience in the dream world is created by individual and collective subconscious and conscious.

Well, then the same goes for this realm - everything is created by the individual and collective conscious and subconscious.  And I mean everything - weather, animals, insects, plants, disease, accidents. This physical realm is not different than any other realm except that the dream images are at such a low vibration that they have actually materialized.  This is like water turning into ice or water turning into vapour.  Water in its solid form - ice - is no more "real" than when it is in one of its other forms.

So, if this realm is no different than any other realm except that it is more solid - Can you imagine what it must have taken to create this "reality"?  How many generations of people has it taken - all holding the same beliefs, same images, in mind to create this great big collective reality.  Why have we created disease, an economic system based on "not enoughness and scarce resources".  There is no lack in God's kingdom, so this must all be maya - illusion.

I wonder how many of us it would take to quit believing in this collective image in order for it to melt away.  Just like the dream world - once you stop holding the image it begins to melt away.  I for one think it is time to create a new world - one built on the concept of abundance for everyone, a perfect world with perfect weather patterns.

Soon I plan on quitting my job and walking out into the universe and allowing the universe to provide for me - just like the Garden of Eden - the way the earth was meant to be.  When I am hungry I simply reach up and there will be fruit to eat.

We have collectively built a reality based on fear, greed, disease, and lack.  I think it is time to create a new reality - right here, right now.  Once enough of us begin to hold a new image in mind, this current reality WILL simply melt away.

Love and Peace - Linda.
