Everytime I try to astral project, i get to the hypnagogic stage and then i literally lay there in my bed FOREVER! I do feel tired and feel like my body goes somewhere (as if going to another stage in astral projection) but then if i feel a little tingle in my hand, it knocks me out of the hypnagogic stage for a second then i have to start over? I feel like im laying there forever, how can i speed up the process to the vibrations?

Xanth

What do you do while you "lie there forever"?

Because just lying there doing nothing isn't going to get you very far.  :)

Don't just "lay there" Back when i had vibrations i noticed something. People have always said " don't pay attention to the vibrations or they will go away" No, don't believe that. While laying there you can do many thing. Use your minds eye to help visualize what you'd like your experience to be, that helps both keep your mind off your physical body, and help your physical body go to sleep. Also, to get your vibrations, be aware of your body, look for the vibrations, when you feel a little, give it a little nudge, than go on to using your minds eye. It could also be the case that you are not relaxed enough. If you aren't relaxed than you will have more difficulty reaching the states needed to project.

Unknown tension somewhere than. OR it's possible that you've gotten to the point where you do not get those sensations anymore. If that's the case, try exiting when you feel the time is right.

what do you mean by unknown tension?

astraladdict

When you feel the time is right, leave your body. I prefer the Rope method. By unknown tension i mean, there may be a part of the body that isn't relaxed, and you are not aware of it.

what do you normally do and how do you know when to exit?

I lay in bed. For every IN breathe i breath in relaxation. Every OUT breath is tension and stress. I do that for 5 min. Than i use the purple flame ( every IN breathe visualize white light going from toe to head, every OUT breathe visualize a purple flame going from head to toe. ) With the intention of projecting. Most of the time my body projects on it's own that way. But if i need to do the exit myself, i do the rope method. I like to keep natural beauty's simple. I hate it when people try to over complicate this. to know when to exit.. if you're looking for a hint while attempting, do it when the vibrations are strong. Other than that, you just KNOW when to leave.

ive really only ever felt vibrations in my hands and when i cant feel them i feel like theyre floating up and when i try to move them non physically, its hard but i feel like i make little progress. for the rest of my body. the rest of my body feels numb except my chest and head. I dont know how to exit without feeling the time to in the head and chest.

well, i tried it just now, and i had a vibration in my hand but when i tried to move, i moved physically instead of spiritually. I still felt like i was laying there forever. i tried your method and sometimes i felt relaxed but then i felt like i was going nowhere.

You're trying too hard. OBE is natural. Just ease up, and stop worrying so much.

it took me three months to have my first experience - and when it hit there was no mistaking!

prior to the experience, i was trying to hard, forcing things to happen. you have to let yourself go and
not worry if  you will project or not. your body will know when it is ready along with your mind.

once you do let go and you keep persisting with exercise, reading, education of OBE... you will get there. I have
no doubts...

Well thats good to know. I think my mind is going to be overflowed with astral projection because for about a week and a half now, just started, all i have been watching and reading about is astral projection. I hope to have one real soon I just want to see who's, if anyone, waiting for me on the other side.

David Warner

you are excited and that is excellent to see.. but remember this, it's not a race, competition and it is also
never ending of trial vs. error. so many awesome authors out there to read and where and what they have been through. don't get too wrapped up with technique after another. the best you can do is focus on a couple of techniques and only just that. otherwise, you will be too scattered when the time does come, which one to remember.

start writing down in the computer, spreadsheet, dates, time, what you ate, how much sleep, the type of experience. was there vibrations, and be detailed and journal the experience. once you start tracking,  you can see the clearer picture of where you are on the map and how to / when are your times for favorable projections.

it's all conditioning and training..
