To this day, almost all of mine are spontaneous.  In other words, I prepare for them, but I usually lose consciousness, and at some point LATER, I spontaneously snap back to full awareness with the pre-OBE symptoms.  It is at this point which I project.

Mine have mostly been spontaneous too. For years I didn't even know what they were, but I learnt that if I did this then this then this (relax and stuff), I would probably have one of those cool dreams. So I guess that would be "preparing". I did finally consciously go out of body for the first time last night, but it wasn't very exciting... kind of like "hey, I'm going out of my body. Hey, I'm up near the ceiling" I had no sight or anything.  But I figure it will eventually get to the point where I can have as wierd and wonderful adventures as I did spontaneously.

Spontanious. All of them. About four times a year since I turned nineteen. I have heard that after thirty of them or so, you begin to do them consiously.

I have never been able to do it at will- however I have learned to control the trip. Mostly.

In meditation I am able trigger such things as remote viewing and tarot card reading.

I think it's just a process- first you learn to control the trip, then you learn how to travel at will.

I don't know who told you that, but it's complete rubbish (as my English projectors may say!).  I have had well over 100 of these, and I still can't do these at will.  All I can do is prepare for them, and have a strong intent.  I can usually "get out" once a week or so.

While there is no doubt in my mind that these can become easier with frequency, I don't think that 30 is a magic number which allows the projector to suddenly leave their body without losing consciousness.

As I said; I think it's just a process- first you learn to control the trip, then you learn how to travel at will.

I have no doubt that whenever I begin controlling all my trips perfectly and consiousiously I will then begin learning to project at will. Much like craweling leads to walking.

For some thirty might be that magic number. Others might need more, or need less, depending.

Thirty sounded very reasonable to me. I figured out how to gain control after about fifteen trips. I'm in the process of sharpening my skills. Somewhere around thirty to fourty I think I'll begin doing things at will- at least some of the time.

Hi everybody,
I'm curious about your first period, when learning how to consciously AP.
I have trained quiet a lot, but the projections I've had has been spontaneous - while asleep, relaxed in deep thoughts and so on. Unfortunately I was completely surprised at these moments and lost the chance.

So, how many of your projections were/are spontaneous?
