An idea...

Hey all, long time no see.

Anyhow, I'd like to propose an idea. I tried a few forum searches but didn't come up with anything conclusive, although I do remember it being discussed some time back.

So, Astral Projection... is it all in the mind? No, I don't mean are we just imagining it. I mean, does it only take place in the mind? If we were leaving our mind and traveling into an open public space, then surely we'd meet thousands of other people who are doing the same thing.

What I'm wondering is that perhaps when we project we merely go into the planes of our subconscious; the part of ourself that is infinitely truthful and notices everything our 'higher self'. What I've also been wondering is... are the spirits we meet the actual person talking to us? Or is it the remnant of their memories contacting us? I'd say it was the latter.

These are a few things I'd like some different and more experienced perspective on, although everyone is free to give their opinion .

So, what do you think about the questions and ideas I proposed?

Astral projection is all in the mind, but so is the physical world.

Nothing exists independent of consciousness so you don't leave your mind, you just explore regions of it.. many that are common to other individual minds.

Subconscious, astral plane, I say tomayto you say tomahto. Sounds like you still have the Western "physical is independent of consciousness" mentality. You need to break this thought construct or concepts generally agreed upon here won't make sense.

When it comes to meeting entities there is no clear cut answer. They can be real, pretenders, or figments of your imagination. Intuition and experience are your best judgement tools.

I'll second that opinion too!

Think of it this way... what we "experience", even in this physical reality, has to be processed by the brain and mind (our five senses) before we experience it.
This means that, technically, everything we experience, is all a product of our mind... and because of perception, it's all subjective too.  How's that for whacky?
