Thank goodness someone mentioned A Waking Life. Great flick. Another, that I hadn't seen mentioned yet, was Donnie Darko. Not exactly an AP movie, but very twisty, and somber. Thought provoking too I guess.

The Celestine Prophecy is supposed to be released in January. If you have read the book, it is long overdue and is the grand mal of these topics. Loved American Beauty - seemed to have really touched something in me. Did you know that the Wizard of Oz was completely derived from a dream the author had?

Vibes was a good movie. It was about a group of psychics (Jeff Goldblum, Cyndi Lauper) who had to find a treasure for some bounty hunters. Cyndi's character said she would astral project in order to roam free from her orphanage. Jeff's character was good at psychometry. Its a pretty good movie.

I saw this late one night a couple years ago on tv - "Tom's Midnight Garden".  I don't remember all the details - I was flipping through the channels and didn't even catch it from the beginning, but it certainly seemed like the main character was having obes even though never explicitly stated.  Has anyone else seen this one?

BOATS

Everyone has missed Gladiator.  The last minute of the movie when he is wounded in the arena and he starts to Astro Project to his farm where his deseased Wife and Child are.  The Queen finially tells him as he lies dying "Go to them" and he does.  I quess this counl be considered a NDE also.

No one has mentioned eXiztenZ, a wonderfully creepy and quirky Cronenberg movie with Jude Law. It's about virtual reality games. When Jude Law's character first gets "plugged in" to the game, it reminds me of an OBE I had when I was suddenly "transported" into a busy restaurant and was in a state of amazement.  Also, there's a scene where he's getting nervous in the virtual reality game world and wants to put the game on pause to check up on his physical body. He stands up and shouts out "eXistenZ is on Pause!" and wakes up. Reminds me of W. Buhlman's technique of shouting "Clarity Now" or some other useful command while in OBE.

Here's some other great movies, not so much about OBE specifically, but how reality is not necessarily what it seems:

The Truman Show  (awesome Peter Weir movie with Jim Carey
Dark City  (stunning surprise ending!)

Oh yes, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, another Jim Carey movie that is about OBE/dream state!

Oh yeah, another one: Somewhere in Time (I think that's the title) A very sentimental weepy romantic movie about a man (Christopher Reeves) who falls in love with a women while OBE. The title song is well known.

Enjoy!
