Has anyone ever had an expireanced a WILD, or, wake induced lucid dream like that in RB's Astral Dynamics?

In his book, he woke up from a dream, and than projected back into the dream without ever having a break in conscience. The difference, he said, was that he had more awarness, felt stronger physical senses such as gravity, touch, pain sensations, smell, taste.  Instead of dreaming, and becomeing lucid at somepoint in the dream, he was able to go back into the dream, being conscience from the start.

For me, lucid dreams are more spontainious, and no matter how many reality checks I do, they never seem to really help the number of lucid dreams that I have.

If you've expireced a WILD, lets hear it.

Or if you just want to comment on a lucid dream you've had, your methods for becoming lucid, extra.

Usually the only time I have a lucid dream is when something in my dream is chasing me. From there, out of habbit i guess, I always stop and face what ever it is thats chasing me, and it aways stops and disapears, and I recignize it as a dream.

(sorry for the bad english, it's 3:10 AM here)

The last WILD I had (was months ago) started quite odd. I woke up some night, turned to the side to continue sleeping. Then everything turned white and I was in my bedroom. I was like "what the hell?". I turned around, looked at the clock on my video recorder, and the time was "jumping" around odd. Now I knew I was dreaming. I stood up and tried to switch the light on, as the room was dark. Didn't work. I tried a mental command. Didn't work. Then I tried a verbal command and shouted "LIGHT", and the room brightened up. I took a look around, everything was incredibly real. I went outside of my room and then it ended.

As for normal lucid dreams, the best and most effective method I found was a mix of auto suggestion, sleep interruption and reality checks. During the day, I would do reality checks as often as I thought of them. Then, in the night, I would repeat the following phrase: "The next time I'm dreaming, I'll realize that I'm dreaming." I do this until I fall asleep or get bored or too tired. Then (Well, before I went to bed, actually) I'd program the alarm clock to wake me in 5 or so hours. After 5 hours, I stand up, walk around and read about lucid dreaming for half an hour. Then I'd go back to sleep and repeat the phrase mentioned above, again, until I fall asleep or get bored.

I had some pretty good results this way, up to 3 lucid dreams a week, which is pretty good for me. But now I'm on a "drought period". No lucid dreams in several months. I'm not trying it, either, which is odd because I want them so badly. I'm just too lazy. Dam* laziness!

How did you distinguish that as being a lucid dream instead of an obe?

yea laziness can be a killer lol.

OBEs/APs/LDs/WILDs, all the same for me. For me, OBEs/APs/WILDs are just another form of LD. Just my current opinion.

Indeed.

Many, many, many, many, times!

Sometimes I catch myself waking up and go back into the dream with more or less full consciousness.  Other times I wake up, lie on my back and go through an "exit procedure" which consists of floating upwards moving away from the bed, coming down to the floor and landing on the floor standing upright.  This is easiest if I wake up in the "mind-awke-body-asleep" state, but I have done this after waking up completely, wiggling my toes, getting comfortable, lying on my back and starting the exit procedure.  It's a really great sensation.  One moment I'm willing like hell to float up.  The next moment it feels like I'm in an elevator and I can feel myself floating up to the ceiling.  Once I get the "elevator feeling" I let out a little internal "cheer" cos I managed it again!  Been doing this for years...

I've had a similar experience where I developed my own method of consciously entering a  dream fully lucid, and was able to resume after interuptions in the dream like pause / play on a VCR / DVD / TIVO (wish I had a TIVO ;) it was interesting to say the least.

Wrote about it on the Dreams forum, here is the link:

i disagree, i will either project consciously or from within a lucid dream - therefore they cannot be the same thing. I will never feel like i am detached from my body or experience vibrations or reunification with the physical body during LD. This is an open debate however, and people have different opinions - wish we could find some sort of consensus to this. Opinions are welcome.
you'll never entirely understand yourself, since your mind, like any other closed system, can only be sure of what it knows about itself by relying on what it knows about itself[/color]
