I have been reading ALOT about astral travel and lucid dreaming and I was just thinking that if astral travel is just being aware in your dreams well I just want to get done things clear anyone plz answer these truthfully I'm getting confused.  1. If astral travel takes place in your dreams then does this mean that everything you dream about has its own 'realm' I guess you could say in the astral? Like the giant spiders you might dream about they live in the astral or is that just the dream?   2.  The astral is it differant for each person who goes there or is it the same for everyone?   3. Can astral travelers see others real people who are astral traveling as well?     4.   What exactly is the astral? A place in your mind? A differant realm/dimension ?? Thanks

Carl Jung believed in the collective unconsciousness, where certain archetypes and dreams resided. There are many different theories, but how can anyone know whether the physical world is actually real or just a dream? It's all a matter of subjective personal experience. Furthermore, who says imagination, dreams, lucid dreams, astral projection, out-of-body experiences, and the physical world aren't all in the same place, if there's even an actual place at all or if time-space is just a subjective experience? If you look into quantum physics you learn that even physical reality does not actually exist until it's observed, that everything is a probability until we experience it.

You can find specific locales or places in the astral that are more or less the same for everyone. We all project our own personal influences on where we go in the astral so some differences are to be expected. The astral is no different than the physical, just not bound to time-space. It exists nowhere, and everywhere. The deeper down the rabbit hole you take this the more you question the entire nature of reality itself. It is an experience, just as dreams and the physical world are. The physical world is real to you because it is a dense and stable reality heavily slowed down and bound by time-space.

But yes it's a different dimension...

no, vice versa. dreams is astral travel with your subconscious at the steering wheel. astral projection is with your conscious self steering. but don't forget it's a continuum of lucidity

what is a 'realm'? we would need to define it. i'd assume there is private 'realm' and local 'realm' in the astral. it is like when you are in your own room in the physical, then you leave the room and you are in your house where you see guests and other family members (semi-private), then you leave the house and go out on the street of your city (public), country, planet ... etc

they might be your creations of thought forms, but creation of thought forms does take place in the astral, too, everything related to 'thought' is in the astral, the decisive question is: how conscious are you as an experiencer

is this physical reality frame the same for everyone? some might say yes, some no, a deep philosophical question about the conscious "self" and its perceived surroundings, qualia, etc., no one can really answer that, but in the astral there are partnered explorations, validations of people who have 'met' each other (consciously or in dreams), so you can assume there is a shared experience / 'place', some also have seen the same astral cities, realms, types of aliens or monsters or whatever

some say they did or do, but we cannot always be sure who it was, only if we get validations afterwards

both. but what is "in" your mind exactly anyway? everything is "in" your mind, this physical reality is "in" your mind too, as you perceive the electromagnetic / vibrational data (sound, visuals, etc.) and decode it with your bio-computer (brain, body) you are using to experience this reality frame

Ask yourself this very simple, yet impossible (as of right now) to answer question:  What are dreams?

Once you can answer that question (even if it's a personal truth answer), you begin to see things much differently.  :)
