You could use rope.

Hey Kosmo, being a artist I have great visual skills and can relate [:D]

While laying down to meditate, once you get into a relaxed state, imagine yourself walking around your room.  See and feel yourself touching things as you pass them..perhaps stop and really feel the carpet under your feet, or some object in the room.  It can be a different room if you like, but I usually visual walk around my bedroom touching and seeing everything..down to the faucet on my dressing room sink.

It's a matter of thinking "away" from your physical..[^]

I absolutely love your tips Nay.

That's a great idea. Tonight when I get in the trance-state, I'll definately start doing that. I'll visualize my energy-body moving around and using my 5-senses to feel-out the room(s).

It feels like the OBE is on the tip of my tongue when I do the rope technique (yet I believe it is more useful as a 'feel' approach rather than a visualization as said on another thread) so no cigar still.

Ahh thank you so much Nay!  This is exactly what I was looking for.  I am off to try this right now :).  Glad to hear that someone else is the same way.

NAY,

Hey Kosmo, being a artist I have great visual skills and can relate

I have dabbled in oil painting and I have realized just how helpful this has been in the past.  When someone has experience truly observing something or "studying" it, they notice much more detail.  I have asked many people to look at a tree and tell me what color they see.  So many tell me that they see green.  They don't even notice the many shading colors or the shapes of the leaves.  The same thing happens a lot of time when I tell someone to close their eyes for a little bit and tell me what they see.  They often say that they don't see anything.  I then point out that in the black void behind their eyelids, there are many different shapes and dots if you look close enough and long enough.

Once someone learns to "look at a tree" in detail it becomes second nature.  You never quite look at anything the same way again.  I believe that this detail is very important in visualization techniques.  People that have never painted a tree may not notice the palet of colors required to create that tree.

Anyone who wishes to improve the detail of their visualization just needs to go sit in their back yard and closely observe a tree, old picket fence, old barn or even clouds for all of the detail and color nature uses to create these things.

It's also fun.

Hey guys, I have been trying to OBE for some time now with no success...  however I have had one lucid dream.  But anyways, I find these tactile imaging methods very challenging, because I am a very visual person.  My visualization skills are great, and I was wondering if there were any methods out there that could take advantage of this.  Any feedback would be great.  Thank you,

Kosmo J
