APing from lucid dreams

Hi chaps,

I eventually recovered the bin-aural hour long episode that Dustin put together a year ago from an old PC. Last night I listened to it in bed before going to sleep and left it running a lot longer than normal. Normally I get about half way through and turn it off because I am too tired to listen right through (a lifestyle issue).

Anyway, I haven't had any lucid dreams (that I have remembered) for some four months now. Obviously listening a bit deeper into the Dustin sounds did the job this time. I had a trail of lucid dreams and they were phenomenal. Those of you who have experienced lucidity in dreams will know what I mean.

Toward the end of my final lucid dream I decided to observe the transition between lucid dream consciousness and waking consciousness. I found myself truly astounded at how tiny the gap seemed to be between the two. This made me ponder why it seems so difficult to go back the other way. I would be interested to hear your views on this. I have yet to astrally project and seem to completely forget to try this in my lucid dreams (I have tried many other approaches to projecting but have yet to succeed). I did try once to project from a lucid dream but it did not work and I quickly found myself awake.

I am making some serious headway with the dreaming. If anyone has some pointers at this point it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Russell

Well here was my way to project from a lucid dream.
I floated and had the will to OBE. I then started spinning myself faster and faster.... the dream faded and I found myself in my bed after.

Here is the most tricky part:
Once you see your dream fading, when everything just goes darker and darker and you loose your vision, an alarm goes off in your thoughts that your loosing your dream and will wake up and so you try to get back into the dream.
I tried a few times to project from a lucid dream and always failed because of that. Only the last time I tried with the spinning and ingnoring my thoughts it worked. However when I entered my OBE I thought I had acctually woken up and ended my OBE purposly after a minute or so.....

Does projecting feel pretty much the same as being awake?  If I mastered it could I go almost anywhere? Could I pop down to the local pub (if it was still open) and see the people in there drinking?

kiwibonga

Yes, yes, and yes ... But take your time... Leaving the body is one thing, mastering projection is another..

So based on the last couple of yesses does that mean that the military uses people with AP skills to go have a look at what is going on elsewhere?

kiwibonga

Yes... Look up "TRV" or "Technical Remote Viewing" -- these are commercial, expensive remote viewing courses based on ex-military personnel's experiences... It does not involve OBEs though, there's no seeing or visiting involved. Instead, a person concentrates on a question, a target, and receives non-verbal "keywords" in response. These are techniques from over 50 years ago... One can only imagine how advanced "psychic spies" are today...

Nah during OBE's your not in the physical..... you won't see anyone, except if you imagine them or if they are in an OBE aswell. And then there might be things which acctually live there, but thats controversial.

Really?  I've never heard that, I've always heard an OOBE in the RTZ (real time zone) was exactly that....I only have 5-6 OOBe experiences and I'm pretty sure they weren't "higher astral" projections since I'm a beginner (but who knows), and I was alone more or less in my apt...guess I should test and try to find my brother or roomate....

but I've heard many stories of people watching "REAL" people....

Anyone?

LifeShadow

I had heard that one was able to see people in the physical when projecting too.  Can we have some clarification on this?

CFTraveler

I've done it, so I know it can be done- but it's not easy.  I've only done it like three times in my life and I ap approx. once a month.

Observing the physical plane from the astral is tricky... The RTZ is an ideal level where you are almost perfectly objective and can observe things as they are without reality fluctuations... There is some truth to what Mydral is saying, it's not uncommon to see -nobody- physical or non-physical... When you go out on the street, you might see people, but how do you know that they're not just born from memories you have of people walking in the city? When you visit someone who's sleeping, you might see their physical body asleep with a non-physical body hovering a few inches above it... Though I've seen many accounts of weird quirks happening where the sleeping person will not be there, or the person will be standing up talking nonsense to the projector...

It's already hard enough to keep the inanimate environment stable, when you're faced with something that is alive, the mind just goes haywire and really weird things happen...

Then again, I've also seen accounts of people traveling, witnessing events or conversations and having successful validations -- Monroe would be the prime example...

I've seen other people while OBE but all of them were asleep. I can tell because they appear dull, like cigarette smoke. They also appear to be walking around slowly, almost like zombies. People who are conscious of where they are I perceive as very bright. I've never seen/nor tried to see, someone in the physical while OBE -- so I can't speak to that.

But I have seen dream characters/overlay while OBE when my awareness is somewhat low. OBE, astral and other planes are all variations/degrees of consciousness/awareness. The higher your lucidity/awareness -- the less dream overlays you have.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

ditto... i'd like to have somthing that will help me get to a lucid dream. Been trying for months and months with all kinds of techniques to no result... tho i am remembering my dreams more :P.
Why do people journey across the globe before taking a journey within themselves?

It is a track produced by a chap called Dustin Ewan (an old Jonas attendee).  It is in MP3 format and is 48MB in size. I will have a think about how to get this online for you guys.

Does anybody use the "fly-out-of-dream" technique? I used it the first time and it worked but I tried it last night and I could barely get off the ground and when I reached a certain level a little computer like screen came up saying "you have reached the limits of the dream" and I went on up anyway but nothing happened, must of been too low concious.

Hi All, sorry I've been away for awhile, life has been keeping me busy, anyway.....

There will always be many complimentary answers to this question and no-one really knows the most accurate, be that as it may, here is my personal take on this from my experience:  Projecting feels EXACTLY like being awake during the most lucid moments.  It is absolutely uncanny how real the experience is.  I personally am unable to differentiate between an OBE and waking reality as far as which one is more "real".  As for being able to go anywhere if you master it, well, that depends on what you mean by anywhere, but if it means going down to the local pub and see your friends drinking, yes and no.  You can go down to the pub and see what appears to be your friends drinking, but more than likely you will go down to the pub and it will look just a little different to you, (different pictures on the wall for example) and the people sitting at the bar will likely be people you have never seen before.  It seems that for every real pub, there are an infinite number of similar pubs and the likelyhood of you finding the one you visit in waking life are very remote (IMO).
