Anyway, I've been trying to Astral Project for around 6 months now, I've read through Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics many many times.  I go through the usual routine, relaxing as much as possible and then make myself believe I'm falling (in a lift or elevator, whatever u wanna call it) to enter trance.

I then either try the rope trick witch doesn't work to good for me, or make myself believe I'm situated elsewhere within my room.  The latter causes a rush of energetic sensations abit like when your hair stands up on end and you get that tingle.

I'm wondering wether that's the vibrations?  I get that sensation in around 2-3 spurts then it goes and nothing!  I just roll over and go to sleep dissapointed with myself.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for reading. [:)]

No that's not them, but keep trying you'll have them sooner or later... [;)]

What loveposion is describing sounds EXACTLY like what I feel at the very start of the vibrations.

See here for info on these tingling sensations and how they can induce OBE's:

You are VERY close, loveposion, keep at it, this sensation will induce the vibrations nessecary to project.

A general rule is that if you're wondering if you've had the vibrations, you probably haven't.  Most beginners are so taken aback by the intensity of the vibrational state that they freak out!

Vibrations used to hit me with the speed and force of an oncoming train.   It's settled down over time though.

I would not agree with tisha if you say it always have to be like that. Mine sound a lot like yours. My first ones was very much like the heat and vibration of an orgasm, though no sexual arrousal or idea was ever present. Very pleasant . They have never been anything but gentle and very nice.

I have projected both ways.  No, that's not right!  I have projected in MANY different ways.

In the beginning, I heard short zapping sounds and then longer buzzes in my ears and within a few weeks of this starting, I just slipped right out the top of my head! [:D]

I was not even trying though--every OBE I have ever had has been spontaneous.  So in the beginning, I just thought I was pushing the limits of sleep deprivation and that was what the buzzes were all about! [8)]

After over 8 years of projecting--I have yet to successfully do it at will [:(]  Or at least every time I REALLY want to--I have so far been unsuccessful!  If I just relax though--and not really be attached to whether I project or not--then a lot of times I do! [;)]

Now, I may hear buzzing--I may not.  I may feel the vibration sensations--but not always.  But I must agree with Tisha--overall, if you have to ask--then you probably have not.  You are probably feeling some preparatory energy movements, but this is not the same as the vibrations.  You will most definately learn the difference between an energy shift and a vibration![:)]

But hang in there lovepoison!  It will happen, just relax and allow your body [bodies!] to get prepared!

I think that is internal body CHI, and if I hear a new age music song that is very intense with just the right frequency combinations (such as Paul Winter Consort - Dolphin Morning).. then I can initiate this chi and it fades, and then re-initiates and makes my nipples very erect and my hair stand up.

What's interesting that when this is done in the hypnagogic state, the vibrations for me usually come instantaneous just by trying to induce this minor chi, and actually.. i'm not sure but:

The supposed vibrations (key word here being "supposed".. I'm unsure if they really are) are LIKE the cold chills for me but they grow in intensity and feel like buzzing electricity roaring throughout your body, usually building up in the chest area and continuing for a longer duration and intensity than normal chi spurts.

I just realised the "Register" button is prevalent, but I had java disabled in my browser, I hate IE.

Sorry for making a false statement! [:)]

I've never had an OBE but I think I came close one time. I was really releaxed, probably more so than when I normally mediate and I was focusing on the falling feeling, and it started to feel like a crazy roller coaster ride. Iwas completely pressed into the bed, or paralyzed, same feeling if you think about it, rushing all over the place. It was really exciting, but I tried not to get too excited and lose the trance. But I never made it all the way[:(]

Hi,

I think I experienced them once.  I tried a couple of the techniques in Astral Dynamics, rope didn't work, but when I tried to feel what it would be like to be floating a few metres above my head, I experienced some intense waves of "energy" surging through my body like an electric current, from my toes to my head.  At the same time my heart started pounding like crazy.  This was unlike anything I have ever experienced, far more than the tingly feeling when the hairs on your neck stand up.  This was like being plugged into the electricity supply!  It was so intense that I completely freaked out, I thought it was going to kill me or something.  Whatever it was stopped by itself after about 15-20 seconds.  What is extremely frustrating is that I have been completely unable to repeat it despite many attempts.  Despite this, it made me realise that there really is something to this & it's not just a bunch of nutters making up silly stories.

Good luck!
HH

Hey lovepoison
It sounds like the phase before the vibrations. A good sign for the vibrations is that before it feels like the body disappears at some point and then it starts like a very powerfull force, which is unlike the feeling of the body just tingling or being asleep. It differs from person to person, but thats the way it is with me.
Hang in there you'll get there [:)]
Best wishes

Firstly hello everyone, I've only just registered a sec ago.  What a pain in the backside that was, you should make the "register" link abit more prevalent because I couldn't find the thing, i had to guess the /register.asp lol.

THE ABOVE WAS A MISTAKE ON MY PART, I HAD JAVA DISABLED LOL
