Hi, I joined the forum a while ago but there is so much information that I did not feel the need to post anything.

Okay, here goes:

Many people have specific methods like shooting up in the air at really fast speeds and such to enter the astral realm.

Can you enter a specific realm of the astral if you designate a specific symbol for it?

For instance you could use the upward-pointing triangle to represent the element of fire and project into a "fiery" based plane after you have already projected or at the point of projection to change your technique to one of going through a poral. (I know that I am bringing some magic into this)

I just want to say that I have never had an OBE but I have had practice skrying so I want to know if this would work.

Since if most people noticed sometimes you want to talk to buddha but you instead enter heaven and jesus is all up in your face. (you get my meaning, right?)

Also, What is bad about the "lower" astral planes. I understand the fear of the "lower" and such but I have not found a specific reason as to why there is so much "hokey-pokey" about it.

Also, have people had experences with the lower planes that they would be willing to share?

I'm sorry if these topics were by chance discussed somewhere else.

OK so what I am getitng from your post confuses me.The way I keep interpreting it is you think there is a bunch of different realms in the astral realm?Im not sure if Im misinterpreting what you are saying?

Nay

I'm not too much on the "symbols" so I can't really be of help with that part.  BUT... in my experience... it is so much easier if you don't put so much into it..ya know?  Stop thinking so "deep" and just do it.  We don't need to be "enlightened" or go through some long drawn out theatrical procedures to achieve memory and activity in the astral.  IMO, we do it every night in dreams.  Some of us remember better than others and some dreams are more clearer than others but that does not mean you can't do it.

Dream recall and quieting the mind is all that is needed and with practice you will soon be remembering and being pro-active in the astral.  IMO.  :)

TalaNay you are probAbly correct, that if we just do it instead of making such a fuss about it with theories and stuff it is much better.

but since I havent had an OBE yet I probably could not be sure but I will try tonight to see how i do.

AstralMorelia you interpreted correctly, sorry if my post was all messy and confusing.

I'm with Nay on the whole KIS concept (Keep It Simple).

Also, names/labels are man-made terms used to attempt to describe and categorize an experience. I think the more you focus on names, the more difficult it becomes. A symbol can help you only as much as your mind is able to translate that symbol into a thought/feeling. Thoughts and feelings are the way in which you travel in the astral.

You give the buddha/jesus example in your initial post -- essentially how do you reach buddha and not end up with jesus, right? I actually had to laugh at the example because it illustrates something you probably hadn't thought of....How do you tell the difference between buddha and jesus? In the physical they obviously looked different from one another... but a lot of their teachings are very similar. So how does one identify one versus the other in the astral? The same way you identify anyone or anything, by how they feel. Each being and each place has a unique feel to it. That feeling alone will identify it from any other being or place.

This is the reason I think it is very difficult to meet people in the astral with whom you do not know in the physical, because your perception of someone you don't know is rarely what that person is truly like. So when in the astral, when you attempt to contact them, you focus on your perceived feeling of them and find your self somewhere or with someone whose feeling matches what you have been focusing on....but it isn't the person you were attempting to reach.

In my mind, I think Jesus and Buddha have VERY similar feelings because I think they have both reached a level of awareness that most others have not even realized is possible. My own opinion is that if they are two seperate beings (and I'm not entirely sure that they are -- I think it is quite possible that Jesus was a later incarnation of Buddha), then you need to do your best to focus completley on the feeling of the person of interest, in your case Buddha. If you are able to get the feeling right, I think there is practically no possibility that you will be in front of Jesus instead of Buddha, for the reason I stated above. The feeling or vibration they emit is such that your ability to identify that level will assure you reach the intended being. However, 99% of the time you will NOT get the feeling right and when that happens you certainly won't be in front of Jesus. You'll be somewhere completely different.

Hmm...I'm not sure I'm being clear with my thoughts on this.

Let's say that Buddha and Jesus both work on the top floor of a very tall building. If you can encompass the feeling for Buddha to the exclusion of all other thoughts and feelings, you will be immediately taken to the top floor and the only option once there is for Buddha, not Jesus. Because the differences are so subtle between them, that the sheer fact that you were able to focus and remain focused on the correct feeling ensures your ability to reach Buddha and not Jesus...hope that makes sense.

But I can assure you that if you did end up in front of Jesus because you had Buddha's feeling slighlty off, he would not be 'in your face'!  :-D  Think about it for a minute. If you travel by thoughts/feelings in the astral, and you focus on your concept of Buddha (a benign, compassionate being) and you end up in front of someone else. The fact that you were taken to them means that they eminate the same feelings on which you were focusing (benign compassionate being). So regardless of what there name is, assuming your focus was on the best qualities Buddha exhibited, then you will not be disappointed with the being that ends up standing before you because they will represent that exact feeling.

The majority of the time, however, you end up on one of the floors below them that has the same feeling as the one on which you are focusing. I do not mean to destroy your hopes or goals, I am merely trying to explain the reality of them. The level in which they exist is extremely difficult to reach. And certainly is not something that someone just starting out will do right off the bat.

I think the goal is admirable and do-able, but a lot of practice needs to come first. So don't get frustrated or disappointed if it doesn't happen a year after you've been practicing...if its a worthy goal (and I think it is) then it is worth all of your time and effort to achieve it.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.
