Different things work for different people. I personally mostly use the triangle method, which you can find in the Permanent Astral Topics forum at the top of the page. Keep in mind i havent' actually had a successful exit yet, but i've only been trying for about a month all up and i've come very close with the triangle method a lot.
The only thing i can say is keep trying. Experiment with different things. Keep a journal if you aren't already and see what you might be able to improve on after each entry.

I HIGHLY recommend not laying down when you attempt it, especially if you've never had one before.  99 times out of 100 you will fall asleep.  You're body can still be relaxed enough to project when you are sitting up, but you're body is not accustomed to sleeping while sitting up.  When you lay down it tells your body "time to sleep".  I guarantee you will go much further if you practice while sitting up.  Also, stretch every muscle before you begin.  Relaxation is one of the biggest factors in success or failure.

Have you read Robert Bruce's treatise?  I have been having slow but incredible results with his ROPE method.

I havent AP'd yet but i got the closest using -

The "Mind Awake, Body Asleep". Once i was relaxed enough i started to use ROPE. A couple of minutes using ROPE and then 'BRING ON THE STRANGE'. I didnt actually AP but i know it was my own fault because i lost concentration. With a little more practice im sure i will AP (Alot of it is to do with motivation and belief too :0P).

I know this is the technique that worked for me but as previously mentioned everybody finds there own way.

Cheers,

Mo.
