Hi all,

I'm from Australia.  I was just wondering I've been using Out of body brain waves, theta waves etc.  What's the best brain waves to use to have an astral projection and second of all.  What should I be focusing on when using it.  I think there has to be some kind of thought behind it.

I really want to astral project and travel to other dimensions and see storybook charactors, or movie charactors or see charactors i've created myself to help me create stories etc.

Can anyone help me out here?

Are you talking about binaural beats? Well, binaural beats do work for some people, but then you ought to do your homework too. I mean, you will have to do your daily practice of meditation, relaxation, and focusing in order to reach a state of mind favorable for astral projection.

To answer you question about whether you can astral project, yes you certainly can. But you need to put in a lot of effort.

Dear snickerhammond,

many studens of astral projection find that for an extrusion of the etheric double to occur, it requires a certain state of trance, however not as deep as usually practiced by meditators. More important than the state of brainwaves is the transformation of consciousness (that is the focus) away from the physical body into the etheric body. The brainwaves of the physical body seem to adjust automatically. The Etheric body can be easily recognized for it's tingling and pulsing sensations. This however will not be the vehicle used for it is tightly constrained to it's physical counterpart.
Once focus has been well established inside the etheric body, it may readily extrude a copy of itself, free from the constraints of the physical body, for which there are various techniques.
It is my believe that insufficient amount of physical detachment combined with a high amount of focus in the etheric double causes various harsh distortions known as exit sensations, as consciousness would be pulled in both directions at the same time.
When I get to the point of exit myself, the biggest sign for recognition of the exit is that my mental screen will become primary vision while ocular vision will be almost completly anulled, unlike the in-body split vision the incarnated is used to, wherein the ocular input makes the primary vision, and the mental screen remains secondary and appears somehow semi-real.

From the state of the etheric double, one may project self onto the astral dimensions, however one is usually drawn there automatically after a while.

I think there is a big misunderstanding out there about what Binural Beats actually do.  They simply alter your brainwave pattern to a particular frequency that could be conducive to an OBE or some other altered state of consciousness.  However, they won't produce an OBE on their own.  Not saying that you assume they will, this is just for anyone who happens to read this and doesn't know.

The technology is actually really old, binural beats are just the modern manifestation of shamanic drumming.  Shamans would use drumming to achieve a particular trance state to help them achieve a shamanic journey.  Of course you can find the same effect in modern music as well (like Trance) that has a consistent rhythmic beat, especially if it's set to a specific BPM (beat per minute).

When you use binural beats, they are helping you to achieve various states of trance.  If you can get a hold on some Hemi-Sync products (especially The Gateway Experience) it can help you progress much faster in your metaphysical training.  However, you ought to practice sans binural beats.  When you train yourself to enter trance under your own volition you become much more adept at all of this stuff and in the long run you'll become a much more proficient projector.  Using tools like binural beats or ear plugs (my vice) can be helpful in the beginning but will hinder your training ultimately.

The best use of binural beats for a new projector is to learn the physical/mental feeling that comes with trance induction.  If you can remember the sensation and the mental action that takes place you can recreate it on your own.  The best thing you can do though is meditate and practice finding and holding a single-minded focus.  State of mind is what will get you there.

be awesome.

Well I was thinking more of a push I guess.

What i was asking was should I use the beats, and focus on something in particular?  I guess in a way I could always try.  My guess is this is something that just needs to be done each night.

Thanks for answering my questions.
