Anyone think this could be correct?

So I am open minded and think projection could be either spiritual OR solely psychological. I came across someones explanation of what an OBE and just wanted your views on if you think this is true and if you think not then why not:

'An OBE is caused by inducing a seizure in the temporoparietal lobes of the brain--you do not "really" come out of your body. You go into a dissociated state and have a mind trip. Although normal people can train themselves to make this happen, it also happens in people with epilepsy and schizophrenia.'

Anyone who says that all OBE can be explained by a seizure in the brain is suffering from some other sort of disability.

It doesn't really matter what we believe or say.
What do YOU think?

These kinds of comments really irritate me. Can't people just answer properly rather than this kind of annoying stuff. I am asking all of you on your views on this.

I once projected and went to my gf's house miles away. I kissed her on the cheek and landed back in my body. She texted me one minute later and was swearing someone just kissed her. That was an awesome seizure then! XD

I projected during a nap and observed my girlfriend watching tv in another room. A few minutes later i physically went and saw her sitting in the same exact spot on the couch. That's just one simple example of personal proof, you can do other experiments where you look at something in the NP then go back and look in the physical, chances are they will be the same. See for yourself. Being skeptical is a good thing, why else would any of use be doing this?

When the main tool (brain) through which we perceive the physical reality gets temporary impaired either through drugs, seizures, brain damage, near death experience, serious illness, etc, that causes our consciousness to freely observe the higher frequency realities because the barrier is lifted so to speak. When the brain starts working properly again, the astral exploration may get translated in forms of memories. When we attempt to AP, we are able to observe the astral realms through energy rising, purposely brain waves diminishing, ets which allows us to bypass the barrier that way. I personally have had many experiences where I have told other people what were they doing and details about their surroundings while observing them through APing. I have had several experiences where I had pulled my sister in her sleep out and the next day she described in details our experience without me mentioning anything to her. So, how is that explainable, if OBEs are simply products of our minds.

I know what you're asking... but I also know WHY it doesn't matter for you to know someone else's view.
You need to figure out WHY it doesn't matter.

There is no easy answer to any question regarding consciousness.  The only answers that matter are the ones you figure out on your own and derived from your own experiences.

If you asked my husband he would say it is all in your mind.   It is only a dream.   It does not exist.    Other people would say the same.   I think I really go out of my body.   I feel it when I come out of my body.   It is like I am physically out of my body but I am spiritually out of my body.     Do not believe me.    As Xanth said find out for yourself what you think.    Years ago I went on an ap and energy course.    The teachers said, do not believe us.    Find out for yourself.

That's the best advise they could have given you for that is definitely spot on. It doesn't matter what we say, prove it to yourself. Then maybe what we say might be a bit easier to comprehend for yourself!

Tom Campbell, William Buhlman and most of the AP "Gurus" say this as well.

@ Klaxen_2008

I am not going to convince anyone about OBE experience.
My point of view about OBE is:
I have my Body and my Energy inside the body. I can feel them both.
When I go sleep my Energy is 'free to go' because Body is sleeping ZzzZZzz.
Energy inside of me insist "to go out" every night. Why ? Because there is a NEED to be around other energies. Same happen with us. We cannot live without each other because our spirits (energies) can learn from each other.

Klaxen, please read here about validations:

Moereover, there is so much good scientific literature on Remote Viewing and NDEs that proves OBE can get you experiences and reliable data you could not have known of before (debunking all skeptical standard objections easily)

Do your research and do your own experiences with AP induction and you will find out.  :-)

Search the net for clairvoyant dreams. These are posted BEFORE the event. When many people die in these dreams, they are not a meat based imagining.
It's very real and very emotional too, especially the waiting.
There's far more where the eye can't see.

I'm surprised at the replies Klaxen has received in this question, as if he were challenging someone's belief system and must be 'put right'.
Anyway, I'll answer as it's asked.
In the studies I have read autoscopy is induced by inducing such seizures, and sometimes the experience of feeling what is happening somewhere else can also be induced.  I have also read that some people with temporal seizures can have the experience of being somewhere else.  However, I don't think this is an 'either/or' phenomenon- I think that there is a cerebral component to the experience (that is, the experience of dissociation from physical input, and the fact that specific brainwaves are associated with the experience.  But we all know this.  However, the usual effect, autoscopy, is not OBE.  It's an altogether different effect.
About what I think about this, is that this does not explain how validations regarding extralocal information is obtained.  I've been in places, seen what was going on there, come back and validated the info.  So, yes, maybe the experience was brain based (my perceptions on how they happened) but the information was definitely validated.
So, I'd say that some experiences can be explained one way, others another way, but they're not all the same.
In Fred Aardema's book, EIC, he experiments with his observations, and finds that the more stable the environment (less reality fluctuations there are) the more veridical his observations were.  And when he was right, he was right- over any kind of 'chance' 'guesses'.  So, there's probably something there to take into account.
Toodles.
Why?

Hi,

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that dose not go away while during the day or night, while your at work or caring for your family, just to magically appear when you go to bed or are meditating. If OBE had anything to do with schizophrenia then you would have other symptoms.

A diagnosis of schizophrenia requires that continuous disturbance (i.e. debilitating symptoms) be present for at least six months, including at least one month of certain key symptoms (active symptoms: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, disorganized/catatonic behavior, negative symptoms such as severe emotional flatness or apathy)

It is an incredibly debilitating illness.
