Hi Major Tom,
            Thanks for your reply. I mainly wanted to know about sensations as I experienced a flying dream and did feel the air around me. I wondered whether this was a dream or an actual projection.

I have heard of many people reporting having sex during an OBE.  They claim that the feeling sensations were very real.  

I have not had any physical feelings in any of my OBE'S, but my psychic(?)  feelings were greatly enhanced.  I think it would probably have to do with what your intent was.  

For example if you wanted to fly to the center of the Earth and feel the heat, you would probably feel it as much as you wanted, but others have spoken of built in safety devices that would stop you before you allowed yourself to feel enough heat to do damage to yourself.  Perhaps flying to the North Pole and experimenting on letting yourself feel cold would be a good way to start.

Funny now that I think about it.  When I was younger I used to have flying dreams at night all the time.  When I started reading about Astral projection I became convinced from what I learned that several of the "dreams" were actually RTZ because of the conditions.  I never felt the wind when I was flying, but had the feeling of landing on the ground as it was solid.  I also know what it feels like to fly through tree branches on accident.  It feels like you would think, but have no pain or physical damage.

In my own experience, physical sensation during OBE seem to be enhanced. I feel the briskness of the wind very much during OBE, but like thelou said, there is no discomfort, just the experience. Do you seem to have concious thought during your flying dreams? If you do then maybe they are OBEs!!! Any re-entry or exit sensations?!? These are all good indicators too.

Also, next time you have a flying dream, it may be very helpful to look at your hands to see if they melt away. I think it is quite a common and good rule of hand as to weather it is an OBE. I use it all the time and seems to be very reliable. If they do melt away it is likely an OBE, whereas if they do not, it is likely a dream. I have wondered before if one can dream about the hands melting away?!? That might throw a spanner in the works, but so far this has worked for me!

Hi Mikeman, TheLou and Major Tom,

When I experienced the flying episode, it felt like I was moving on my back, high in the sky, looking up with a feeling of airflow across me. Also, I'm sure I passed/saw a nearby aircraft (This part did make me thing that it might have been a dream in the sense that my mind might have created the things I would expect to see if I was in the sky). I think during the episode that the speed of movement made me lose consciousness and then the following part of the experience became a usual dream.

I have read of numerous accounts of people saying that they felt like they were flying next to a plane.

Also there have been numerous accounts of piolets that suddenly found themselves flying outside of their plane, and looking in the window at themselves flying that plane.

  My most recent obe occured at street level, close to where I live. I was moving at a fair speed, moving through signposts and any obstacles in front of me. I just wish that these were fully conscious projections where I have full control over what I am doing then I could use some way of verifying that these are actual projections rather than just a dream. I don't recall having any sensations during this except being a bit disconcerted at moving through objects.

Hi,
  I wondered about whether the astral body during a real time projection can feel things like breezes, cold and warm tempratures. Also if someone projected downwards into the earth, could they reach the centre where the earth is hottest, without any harm coming to the body.
