Hello all,

I would like to make two questions about something I have been wondering lately.
Your opinions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First question

What is that "thing" that makes our bodies move, I mean, when you decide to move an arm or a leg in a certain way, what is "that" which makes it possible for you to accomplish your intention?

Second question

Imagine that you have a part of your body (let's say a hand or a leg) completely disabled. There's nothing wrong with that part of your body; it's just not functional yet.
What would you do then to gain some control over it and make it active?

Doringo

When you decide to move a limb, the electrical pulses in your brain travel down the nerves to the muscles in the limb you wish to move (let's say an arm) and the muscles contract. Depending on which muscles contract, your arm would move in different ways.

If you have a body part completely disabled there's not much you can do about it. If the nerve impulses can't get there the muscles never get the message that you want to move it and so it just sits there.
All men are equal in death.
