Why we want to know about VIBRATIONS

The reason why people who are NEW to AP want to know about vibrations is because it is something they can FEEL that tells them they are close to having an AP.

People have been programed to have a directions guide in front of them when they are trying to build something or learn something new.  They want to know what to feel at this stage, then this stage, then the astral stage.

Most NEW people (Most) have done research and know that vibrations dont happen all the time.  But if they can do an excersise to feel them, then they know they are in the right direction.  It gives them confidence.  I havent had an OBE yet, but I have had ONE strong vibration experience and it has given me plenty of hope that I can do it.

I didnt use an excersise to induce the vibrations, they started from a lucid dream.  I too would like to know if there are any known excersises that help me feel vibrations.  I would also like to know more about them, what are they, why do some feel them and others dont?  Does anyone know why or do we just shrug the question off and say "some people dont fell any".

yeah im new to AP and I haven't had any vibrations which makes me mad after so much that i've tried my body just gets heavy.

It doesnt have to be the vibrations that we need to feel.  It could be something else that by using one of our five senses, shows us that we are on the right path.

When someone is new to the concept, they have no clue what to expect.  So it can be very frustrating laying down and trying to relax for 50 minutes, using techniques to "get out" and we dont even know if we are doing it right.  There is nothing tangible so we need something else as a marker, guide, whatever you want to call it.

Any kind of sign that shows us we are on the right track and what method to bring out that sign would be helpful (vibrations, images, buzzing, ringing...etc).

There are many signposts that awareness is separating from the physical, not just vibrations. For me, the mind awake/body asleep is unmistakable. My perception changes. It's hard to describe - it can be subtle, yet definite. It no longer feels like I'm lying down with my eyes closed. During the transition my thoughts seem to "flatten out", it gets fuzzy for little bit like on the edge of falling asleep, but then it's like someone flips a switch. It's an unmistakable transition and I'm ready for my exit technique (I prefer "phasing"). Back in the earlier days I would get vibes through this transition, but not much any more.

It seems it's a little different for everyone though. I think all one can really do is keep practicing. Reaching a state of consciousness outside of your normal physical perception, whether OBE or not, is really the first big hurdle and important skill. Vibes tend to come on their own. Or not.

What I'm trying to say is that there's more than vibes to indicate your progress. Remaining passively observant of the entire process without expectations may benefit more than waiting for what you assume should happen.

We know that there is more to vibes and that not everyone gets them.  I am just saying the reason people new to the process want to know how to get them is because it is something they can feel/relate to.

I like the "flatten out" when talking about your thoughts.  Mine do that.  I will try to remember this for next time.  But its this type of talk that helps people know what to look out for.

What does this unmistakable transition feel like before your exit technique?  Can you describe it?

The passively observant suggestion is the best advice anyone could get.
Just practice and observe what you feel, right it down and try to feel it again the next time you practice.

I agree and this is what brings me to a 'common' (at least in the OBE community) conundrum- to not warn about vibrations invites people to fear OBE when they go through them- I can't count how many times people write posts reporting what are normal exit sensations with fear- fear of dying, fear of being possessed, etc.- all because they are not familiar with these sensations- and then when you do post and warn and try to describe all the possible things that seem scary but are not, then it causes people to look for these and limit their possibilities-or worse, give up when they don't happen 'as advertised'.
It's a tight rope we walk on-a slippery slope, the rock and the hard place, etc. Durned if you do, durned if you don't.

This explains alot CFT.  I can see this as being a very fine line to walk.  I wish I had heard this a few months ago.  I am now taking a more passive/observive way of practice.  I am seeing what I ,me, myself, feel and write it down.  The next time I try and will see if I feel the same things.  Then that will be my own personal marker.

We are trying to see a strict instruction manual when in fact, each manual is different for every person.  Some things could work and others may not.  But what NEW people have to realize is that they have to try different things and focus on what THEY feel.  Make it a personal project/process.

This has opened my eyes a bit more CFT.  Thank you!!!

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum and I would just like to say thank for all the help i've already recived just from reading your posts.  Im writing here today because two nights ago I had my first real vibrations!  They really are unmistakable.  I have been studying/trying OBE seriously for about 3 months now, but i have had an intrest in them for a few years.  I keep reading about these vibrations and on a couple of occasions I thought I felt them, now I know that was just tingling.

The Vibes really are unmistakable, and terrifying, and extrodanarily exciting!  I've read a bunch of the OBE books and I felt like I really knew what to expect, and even then it was really scary.  I cant imagine someone having spontanious vibes, that would really freak you out.  My experience started out with a lucid dream.  I didn't have very much clarity, but I was in complete control, to the point where I could fly around the resturaunt that I work at.

Then I woke up in bed and without moving much or thinking about OBE (I was still contemplating my dream) the vibrations rushed in totally unexpected.  I would have to say that the electricity description fits the best for me - High Voltage without the pain, but at the same time i felt a lot of motion, like I was hollow or transparent and theres this River of power and electricity rushing/coarsing through my body at incredible speed.  It was incredibly intense and scary, and even though I knew what to expect, nothing can really prepare you for this.  The Vibes only lasted about 20-30 seconds.  Just enough time for me to try to break my astral arms/hands free and frail them around franticly (which worked quite well, it felt really weird, but I could move them) and then I tryed the rollout exit a couple times but I was too scared and "woke up" in the physical.

I was so happy to finally get the vibes that I just layed in bed for 30 minutes absolutly extatic.  I've always belived in OBE but this was my first real personal proof.  The next morning I wished the vibes hadent freaked me out so much and I could have tried another exit, I know I was so close, but this was a good first step.  Now that I know what the vibes feel like, I think I can get them back again and not be as afraid. I can also see now why Robert Monroe uses the affirmations before exits and on his Hemi-sync CDs, its to keep you calm and reasured that nothing bad is going to happen and to not be afraid.  I really didn't expect to be afraid at all, I though I knew well enough from reading about the Vibes what to expect, but nothing can really prepare you for this sort of energy.  Gotta keep those lovin'-good vibrations happenin' with her!
