Mattress Springs affecting OBE

I came across this advice in Astral Travel by Gavin and Yvonne Frost, wherein they advised against trying to astral project on a bed with metal springs as their conclusion is that this hinders the separation of the person. Can anyone advise me on whether this is actually true in all circumstances or not?  Also i am having trouble trying to get out of my body or at least being able to replicate the few lucid dreams i have. In the past i used to have a lot of paralysis nightmares but was unaware that could be a gateway to astral travel and actually given the many weird nights of experiences surrounding those nightmares i probably was astral projecting then too, but i was quite stressed and depressed when that was happening and was quite fearful of negative forces trying to possess me -( eek that was a funny time).

So apart from wanting to know whether metal springs hinder astral travel and really how best can i get to at least the vibrational stage - i recall being consciously at that stagte once before during a paralysis episode and then again ina lucid dream as a float upwards the vibrations began (but i chickened out - damn!)

cheers

I've never heard of metal springs affecting astral projection, and (in my own experience at least) it's not true.

The best way to get to the vibrational state? Wake up an hour or two before you have to get up in the morning and practice phasing.

Never heard of the metal springs affecting projection. I have a bed with springs and I am still able to get out. Never owned a springless bed so I don't know if it makes it easier, but I wouldn't think so

thanks for the reply, that is good to hear, as i had never heard of it before either and then the aforementioned book brought it up.

Thanks too regarding the vibrational state.

Cheers

Even though this has been answered, I figured I'd throw in my opinion, too.

This sounds like another thing where if you believe it will affect you, it will. I have a bed with metal springs in it, and haven't had any problems because of it. The only way I can really see it having an effect is if a spring is jabbing you in your back or side.

i've projected on one of those tempur-pedic mattresses and it was a lot easier.

i mean you'd never know if you didn't experience it.

but after using that bed i can feel where my metal spring mattress pushes on pressure points on my body.
be awesome.

I think this came from the belief that the projected double is some sort of em field and can be affected by magnetism (remember Monroe started projecting by orienting himself N-S?)- however, even if it is (that's another ball o' wax) that doesn't mean that there is magnetism associated with metal springs- there are only a few metals that are magnetic (only metals with iron on it) and the magnetism would have to be electrically induced.

Plus, experience shows that most projectors, once they get over these types of limiting beliefs, can project in any condition if they're comfy enough (but not too comfy).

I project with all my jewelry, and my recliner has metal springy things on the bottom, and I project just fine.

That's excellent to know, as i am sure the metal springs was regarding the idea of it causing some kind of EM interference - good to know that i don't need to be removing piercings everytime i attempt - which is on a nightly basis now mostly. But does this also mean then that there should be no problems caused by electrical items nearby like computer and tv? Thanks for helping to dispel this myth. The metal springs affecting [pressure poitn smight be a more tangible concern too.

the pressure points on the body get sore quickly when you're doing something like projecting.

the same thing happens to me when i project on the floor.  my back and butt get sore fast because i'm laying still but my mind is still aware (as opposed to just sleeping on the floor, you're sore the next day but don't notice it so much when you're sleeping).
be awesome.

Certainly, nickspry has an idea- I also haven't heard of metal springs that has something to do with astral project. If you want to experience how to reach the vibrational state of astral projection- try to learn how to rehearse the process of shifting between waking and sleeping and tell yourself that you are in control of your body and its processes. This is the best advice on doing it.
