Can OBE training cause psychic development

I'm not sure about OBE since I have not yet had the experience. However increasing dream recall and being lucid more often in dreams I have had 'clumps' of psychic abilities. Simple prophecies and a more in-tune inner voice. I'm hoping this will develop into a greater ability.

I heard Albert Taylor comment once that OBE's DO in fact cause an increase in psychic percecption, possibly because when a person projects they 'open their psychic doors' so to speak, and that these doors tend to remain open.

Hi,
It would make sense that a person who is aware of being OBE and does it regularly could 'open their gifts'.  At the same time, if it isn't one of the billions of options you chose for this life then I doubt you would experience it.  Even that last statement is arguable, LOL.

Seems the Key is where your awareness is.  I don't mean in OBE or not. If you are aware of being OBE, you are more open to the possibilities of that awareness level and maybe a little remembering if you explored.  

This awareness level is expanded from your day to day one, we all agree on that perhaps, so retaining the higher awareness level while being aware (awake) in the world is the basis of those psychic and other 'gifts'.  They are always there, we only need to reach for them and they will work.  

Being in your own higher awareness levels while doing daily life is one of our aims in this life..  possibly for all of us.  

So many people think it is all about getting into our higher awareness levels so we can transcend the world we are in.  Would it make more sense for us to grow into being what we really are, our Higher-Self, and Be Here, in each moment, living the reality of fully aware spirit in the flesh of this world ?  The climax of life in this world perhaps ? Then by all means transcend and volunteer for another world or maybe a well earned holiday life in some Eden like world.  []

Yes, if you chose to work the spiritual gifts in this life you can be more opened to them because of your astral journeying.  Geez, took a while to get to the point, LOL.

A lot of what a being does for OOBE is exactly the same for other talents.  Power is Power, The difference being in how you apply it.  If you want to see Aura's or have Astral site, then you need power and focus(which includes opening chakras and attaining the proper frame of mind and meditative state).

I personally am a lousy OOBEr, joys of being married with kids and pets. I however have a lot more AP's and LD's, as long as I stay away from my body.  I have a lot of success in other talents.  I have to really work for an OOBE, but not to see Aura's/Astral.  The more I meditate regularly, The easier everything becomes.

Thanks guys, Well it all sounds good to me, and makes sence as well, kinda like if you want to become a good swimmer you cant help but develop increased fittness and a better physic. And some one who increased their fittness and strengh would probably be a stronger swimmer [^]

Hey all, quite often very psychic people have the abilty to project/leave their bodys very easily, at will even. Im guessing because of there quality of mind and control of it, along with their hightend conciousness and higher frequency and vibration.

There for does OOBE training increase or cause the development of psychic ability? as a side effect even (not a bad one!) if so could any one provide a good example please.

Although I can at times and have,left my body, I dont because I dont know where I would go, and dont realy feel the need, or more like I prefer to put my energy in to somthing different. so the only expiriences ive had have either been accidental or very brief.
