[OBE] Was this an OBE or not?

Hello ppl, well so yesterday I tried Hemi-Sync lucid dreaming series. I fell asleep with the "relaxing sounds of rainfall" and had a very strange dream.

I dreamt of floating above my own body, everything was colorless (maybe a little brownish but cant tell exactly) and i started to float up, going backwards but i couldnt control my direction

I could go through the walls of my house, but i couldnt control where i was going (I just kept floating up)

After this, dont know how, was transported to a warehouse and i was doing some mantainance there. (In my job i did this in real life, hence my scepticism of this being an OBE or not)

I started to feel a little uncomfortable, and wished to return to my house. Well i did, but i was staring to the ceiling and coulnt move or talk. Whenever i wished to wake up, i heard a loud buzzing noise on my ears. It was really annyoing almost painful.

So i kept wishing to wake up, but the buzzing noise kept getting louder. I did one last try with all my will, and i managed to wake up, feeling very disturbed, breathing heavy.

This is not the first time that i can't wake up from sleep. Once i dreamt being face down on the bed, feeling a cold, chilling breeze on the back of my neck. I felt very afraid and disturbed that time, and like my experience last night, couldn't wake up until i tried with all my strength.

Is this normal? or is this something out of the ordinary?
Thanks

Hey!

As for the first part, I have no way to determine if it was a lucid dream or an obe. Sometimes i can't even tell if my own experiences are OBEs or LDs.

As for the second part, it seems to me like a "Sleep Paralysis". First of all, its perfectly normal and congratulations on having it. Secondly, A sleep paralysis (SP) is basically a phenomenon that happens when your body is a sleep and your "mind" is awake. Buzzing and vibrating is something natural that happens during SP. You can read alot about it, its a very famous phenomenon.

SP is considered by some people as the "Holy Grail" of astral projection, as it can be an optimal state to project from.

As for me, I usually Lucid dream, then i wake up in SP and from there i exit to an OBE.

Have no fear when it happens, sometimes it can even be fun.  :-D

Thanks for the quick reply. In my whole life i have had about 8 or 10 SP. It didnt feel so fun as you pointed out lol, but i think it was because i was afraid of my current state at the time.

And i hate that i have wasted all those SP trying to wake up also... lol.
Can you tell me where can i research about the connection of SP and AP, and methods to getting SP more often so i can jump to AP from there? And most importantly, how do i jump to AP from SP?

Also, how to lose the fear when i am on SP, maybe you could share your first experiences?
Or any help on getting SP, OBE, LD, or AP would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, i dont think it was a coincidence i was listening to hemi-sync when this happened... gonna try again tonight.

It's ashamed that you "wasted" you SP trying to wake up, as it can be very scary if you didn't know what it was. As a kid it did happen to me a lot, and yes, I was scared and I didn't know what was happening to my body. They're are many different techniques to leave you body while AP. You will have to find the best one that will work for you.
You can't be scared of the unknown, and to do that you must do some research about astral travailing, and read some stories linked to this forum. So you get a better idea of what to "expect" once your out. One last thing,DO NOT get over exited when our out, save the excitement for when you come back.
Hope this helped.

It helps, thank you. I hope i can project soon i have been trying for some time now, but this is the first time i was in a SP and knew about it. Too bad i was too afraid.

Are there any particular techniques to leave your body? ive heard the rope technique is quite effective.

Also be aware that you can slip into a dream or other unconscious states even while you are out of your body. One time I made it all the way to town to try out a few things. I can not just instantly zap myself to a location of choice, so I had to get to town the old fashioned way (flying). It can be confusing to navigate while in the out of body state without getting lost sometimes. Anyway I finally get to town and I lose consciousness, when I came to I was in a very unfamiliar city, still no one could see me so Im not sure I ended up in a conscious dream. There were other times where I know I ended up in a dream from the out of body experience because I simply 'fell asleep' while out of the body. So when you do succeed in projection make sure you keep your first few journeys short otherwise you might just end up falling asleep while out and forgetting the experience, and once you make a habit out of doing that it will be hard to fix it... so just make sure you keep them short the first few times and progressively extend it longer each time.

I think that the best thing you can do is simply gain more experience. try to exit again and again - The more times you try, the better you'll get and the less fearful you'll be.
When you wake up in SP, don't struggle - Calm down and feel what's going on. When you try to exit, no matter what technique you're trying to apply, do it slowly and gently.

When i started this hole thing, and over came that first fear, i got really excited (in the positive way) and this soon turned out to be another obstacle.
My conclusion was that being calm is the key. don't get carried away by any of your emotions.

Good luck and don't forget to keep us updated with your journeys !
