It seems to me like a false awakening, which is when you wake up from sleep but you aren't really awake. Its kind of like a continuos loop, you are actually still sleeping but your are tricked into thinking you have woken up. Its hard to explain. You usually wake up, do some stuff, then you wake up again. You then think you were dreaming and now you are really awake, but before you know it, you wake up again. This goes on and on until you finally wake up for real.

It happened to you 8-10 times. Yep, thats natural.

OverDriven

I had a very strange night last night. I went to bed at about 11:30 PM. I had taken some Excedrin PM about 2 hours before so I was pretty tired from that. Sometime during the middle of the night, I woke up with the strangest sensations. It felt like my skin was all prickly.  Not really tingling, but very strange...almost oversensitive. I had this slight tingling in my chest. I felt a huge amount of anxiety for some reason, and I was somewhat disoriented. My body felt like it was full of energy, but it was very uncomfortable. I remember waking up my girlfriend who was laying next to me. I tried to get back to sleep and soon woke up again.  This happened about 8-10 times within an hour. Every time my girlfriend woke up. Looking back on it, everything had a strange surreal quality to it, and I was very afraid of the sensations (almost panicing). I never usually panic over anything, but I've heard that emotions are much stronger in the astral. In the morning I mentioned it, and she said I never moved or woke her up. Now, my girlfriend remembers if I even move a tiny bit during the night if it wakes her up. She said I never moved. I remembered speaking to her even...she did not recall this.  I'm almost sure I was having a spontaneous projection. The sensations were something I've never experienced before. Everything was very very real though...I remember it very clearly. God damn it I wish I had just stood up and I might have realized I was projecting!
