Has anyone know or has experienced becoming crazy after they OBE? You think your losing your mind?
Or when you try and tell your friends about it, and they believe you and tell you your mental?

Only if the mind in question had an existing instability. OBE's, like an intense dream, can obviously exacerbate existing problems.

What an issue..
I have to say that this subject is something i think about very often.

What i do, is talk about it only with my closest friends, that i know they are "Open Minded". I trust them enough to know they won't judge me as "crazy" or anything like that.

As for the rest of the people on the planet, Like family and coworkers, i won't say a thing.

As for myself, i just hope I'll have enough confidence to be sure that this is real and I'm not going crazy.  :-P

I have met a lot of crazy people and I don't think many of them practice astral projection. Learning to travel around the interdimensional universe can be overwhelming at times but if you stay focused on the task at hand you will be fine. The hardest part of everything is experiencing the most incredible amazing things and having to keep it a secret. It helps to keep a journal or post in a forum such as this, so that hopefully in time others will be able to read what you have done.

i strongly believe you dont have to keep anything secret. why would you?

Well, i can assume that some people might misunderstand you when you tell them you've been floating around the dimensions of the cosmos...  :-D

I don't have to assume, I've seen and done things that even people in this forum don't believe me sometimes... Besides, there's a difference between keeping it secret and going around telling everyone.

not wanting to talk about your mystical hobby is as stupid as not wanting to talk about whatever other ordinary thing there might be. why bother about being understood or misunderstood?

yes, sure. so let me ask again: why do you have to keep it secret? every "reason" to not tell it to anyone is a big fat illusion.

Sometimes the truth can do more harm than good when people aren't ready. And many times it's just beyond most peoples level of comprehension.   :?

mo

well ok, in your case it's about time manipulation devices and such. maybe i'd keep my mouth shut too. :)

but dudes, in all seriousness. i'd personally openly share every OBE experience. it's all about how you tell them. if you try to form people's opinion while telling them, it usually is a no-go. but if you just openly share your experiences, totally unjudged, not selling them as "truth", people will be FASCINATED.

so if you say "it's beyond their comprehension", you're basically saying "connecting to people on this level is beyond my comprehension".

Thank you guys for all your replies.

Everything I've experienced I haven't told anyone, I'm keeping it till someone comes into my life that can be open minded and probably experiences things I've experienced. Cause I've tried telling some people about it, including my family.. And now my family thinks I'm a freak and I'm becoming psycho. This sucks..

Cheer up man!
I totally understand how you feel.
If you feel that some people (such as your family) won't understand you can always describe this phenomenon as a "dream".
For example, you can tell someone: "I'm having allot of interesting dreams lately about flying out of my body..."

I'm already crazy... OBEing makes me sane.  ;)

If it really becomes a part of your lifestyle it becomes a very normal thing. It's no longer a hobby or a fascination, it's like doing the dishes or going for a jog. Most of my AP's aren't really worth sharing in themselves - the outcome of what I've learned/am learning seems to be the important factor. Even people who don't believe in OBE's will pick up on that. When you evolve, others notice.

It's all about enriching your own life.
If you manage to enrich someone elses life as well... well, that's just bonus.  ;)

From my experience, alot more people have a mild interest in the paranormal then we realize, and i have generally had good responses from most people I've shared my astral projection experiences with, and often times someone I have been telling has their own experiences and just never knew what it was they were experienceing or if other people had done it. Im sure there are some cases where its not best to bring it up, I only bring it up usually if the people Im with already are talking about something thats somewhat related to new age thought or paranormal activity.

QuoteYou think your losing your mind?
Well it goes without saying, it's a natural reaction to something this out of the ordinary. Usually the reaction to the first few obe's goes something like... I can't believe that just happened ---> did that really happen ---> was it a dream? After more obes and the person realizes it's absolutely real then they think "Am I losing my mind". I can tell you about both perspectives. A long time ago before I have ever considered out of body experiences, or "astral projections" a friend brought the subject up in college a long time ago. I thought to myself when he was explaining his experience to me "This guy is losing his mind". So when I finally had my first few obes I knew a normal persons mental reaction to hearing someone talking about it, which is why its something I reserve to talk about with a few of my closer friends who have had similar experiences, or want to, and family members also. After I talked to my parents about it I was told by my mother that my great uncle and aunt both talked about obes for as long as she can remember, so at least when friends arent around my parents will talk about when they call me. Although my mother remains scared of even attempting such an experience, she's on the fence about the whole is it wrong or not thing (religious people heh).

I have never felt that it was like I was losing my mind. For me it felt natural since the first obe I have had. Probablly because I have read so much about it beforehand. I even start missing it if it takes longer than a week to have another obe. It gives my life an "extra dimension", even more... I think when you're oob you're closer to who you really are.
And I only tell one person about it, who happens to have had obe's when he was younger. (I recently found out)  :-)
