Hello,

I'm still very new to this site, but I've been reading a bunch of posts on people's OOBE's and I have a few questions. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out a little :D

So where to start.

I have just recently started studying astral projection, lucid dreaming, and OOBE's (I was somewhat sheltered as a child). I guess my main focus is OOBE's, but I am not completely sure where OOBE's end and astral projection begins. What I have been doing is going to bed, and then either trying to get into SP right then or waking up later to try to do so. However, I get to the point at which I can feel vibrations, but they come and go, and I do not experience any of the other signs of SP. When I do feel vibrations, I sometimes get a lifting feeling, like my spirit is about to leave my body, but after 30 seconds or so the vibrations go away, as well as the feeling of lightness. Then, it takes another period of time before the same cycle repeats again.

I have read that at this point (or something close to it), one should imagine floating, or try to roll out of the body, etc. but this never seems to work for me. I just feel stuck.

So, first question: Am I getting into SP or not?
Also, is there something I am just completely missing, or do I just need to continue on this path until something happens?

Thanks,

No, not SP, according to my experience. You are feeling the "vibrational state",
which many report being associated with early stages before OBE. Some may feel
the vibrational state, and never OBE, some may OBE without ever feeling vibrations.

You yankin my chain or did you just make that up?  :-D

Sleep Paralysis is the Vibrational State... the Vibrational State is Sleep Paralysis... SP is VS... VS is SP. In the same way that the Patella is called the Knee Cap... the same way that the Clavicle is called the collar bone... the way that Spit is called Saliva... I could go on!

Labels and tags is all they are yet one and the same they be.

Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that last night around 2 I practiced using the method from the second link and I got farther than ever before in a shorter amount of time! And I usually have trouble doing it at night!

I was actually able to keep calm once the vibrations set in, and then I accidentally thought "I'm floating". It felt like someone flipped a switch. It felt like I was about to take off! But then I lost my focus and "reconnected", but it was so awesome!

I am very excited about this new method...it's already worked so well!

Thanks a ton for telling me about those stickies. I had looked around previously but I had not looked at the right ones.

Congratulations on your progress!  :-)

Just stay the course, passively observe all that occurs and ALLOW yourself to go further and further each time.

This is the recipe for success!

Welcome! I agree with this. Try and have a placid state of mind and let the imagery roll its way in. Its what has worked best for me. And if you fall asleep, well, you may just wake up in SP! :) So its a win win! Keep us updated on your progress. I always enjoy reading others experiences. They sure are fascinating!
