AstralBeginnings

Hi all,

I started researching OBE's etc after a strange occurrence at the beginning of April - I started around 5th April.  By 10th April I had my first OBE(s) and by 24th id had 4 (on 3 separate occasions).  If you want details you can see my blog which is linked in my signature.  Since then I have upped my NEW Energy Work and read much much more about various methods and techniques.  Since the 24th ive had very little success in the way of OBE's.

At the beginning, all I had read was the Vehram Method and some of Lucidology.  These methods worked!  Now I have absorbed more information from differing sources and started energy work I think I have my fingers in too many pies and as such, im not sticking to one set way to achieve an OBE.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Would it be better to cut off all the slack and go back to basics?  Also, has anyone else experienced issues when introducing Energy Work?

I know im still new to this but I had what I would call relatively good success in my first month attempting OBE's and I expect myself to progress, not stagnate. Frustration is beginning to kick in and I know that will only hinder things more!

Maybe im just impatient...!

Dear AstralBeginnings,

overcomplication is a common problem for all.

I've found that I've actually subconsiously used all the methods without having consciously decided to use them. 2 Days ago I apparently used "The Vibrations" to lift out while I never actually decided to use that method. Before that I used the visualization technique without having thought about it. It goes on to suggest that there is always a part of oneself (higher self?) that knows hence one doesn't really need to plan this from the inside out.

The only thing I focus on now is turning off my ego-mind at will as to not be bothered by entities like: boredom, frustration, excitement etc. I do that by suspending self-awareness, effectively reducing it to a single point, effortless focus. It's an enormous shortcut that makes it all so much easier.

kind regards,

Paul

This.
I'd suggest going back to the basics... go back to what worked for you.
There's little sense in adding another dimension to your practices if something you're doing works well.

I suggest taking a break from all things astral for a week or two and coming back fresh to the basics. A break can help remove expectations and frustrations.

This is my view on it. Keep it as simple as possible. Entering other areas of consciousness to me is like moving your hand, you simply move your hand, but, is the awareness you're conscious of moving it, or are you telling another part of your consciousness that you wish to move your hand and it does what is necessary for it to be moved? Think about the entire physical process that takes place in order for your hand to move, the electric pulses that are sent, the neurotransmitters released in the brain, which could probably all be expressed in hundreds of lines, but to the part of consciousness we are aware of all we do is move it. That being said, I would instead of trying random things try to understand what needs to be done to better communicate with the part of self which you have made yourself not aware of so that you may better experience that actually does regulate these processes that you do indeed wish to view another area of consciousness.
