Title: Best techniques when drifting to sleep
Post by: Tongo on May 16, 2012, 03:51:31
Is there recommended techniques that work well with most people when you are drifting to sleep at night? what is the most effective? please don't just say its different for everyone yes I know it is but I am wanting to get techniques for this that tend to work better than others GENERALLY.

Everyone sleeps obviously so I thought why not try to use the time drifting to sleep to accomplish an OBE? do many here try this?

I personally talk to myself before I go to sleep. I say "By my act of will I release my focus of my physical body. Take me to your desired destination,. Show me what I need to see. Teach me what I need to learn. Awaken me in my dreams so I may project from and remember them". I usually just lie in bed watching the 3D darkness before my eyes as I fall asleep. Since I have been doing this, I have been having quite a few Lucid Dreams.
My biggest problem with this is I don't get the full memory recall. I awaken every morning knowing the last dream I was in. But when I do project during the night, my memories in the morning are almost non existent or blurry, unless it was a spectacular event. That's why I prefer to Phase in the day, I will always remember everything that occurred.
Affirmations and noticing are great techniques to train yourself to do.  :-)

Hi,
One of the things to do in going to sleep is to rest your mind from expectations. This is an emotion that will put your attempts on hold. Its so easy to try and force a projection with lots of knowledge but this act is detrimental.
A passive approach is required and so easy to say. You'll have read expect nothing, another is I give up to find they project successfully.
Worth bearing this in mind.....
